Monte e Mare

We stayed at Monte e Mare for 5 days before heading to Lefkada. The property is as described, traditional stone houses. The houses are large enough for four although the stair is a bit awkward as it is a bit too vertical. However, we managed to climb it with no issues. The house may need a bit of improvement like the kitchen amenities, the toiletries, the cutlery, but overall, if you want to live traditional, you live traditional and not in a 5* hotel. The yard is really nice and large, kids can jump and do gymnastics, the patio is comfortable for self made breakfast and coffee. The Spasmata beach which is really nice is very close. We didn't mind the airport and the planes seen from such a small distance and the noise comes and goes and it's not even that often. What we didn't like that much was the insects coming in from under the doors and through the windows. It is true that the houses are in the country side and one can expect nature to overwhelm but still, might be a solution for that. Also, the maisonette was attached to another one where a family kept partying until 3AM and only after I knocked at their door and shouted they turned the volume down, both music and talking. They ended the party instantly so probably they were not aware how loud they are.
