No words can describe Lefteris and Patricia as the make you feel at home and are there to help you at any time 
The studios are quite big, very clean and really comfortable 
We enjoyed our stay at Nina studios and our hosts became our friends

Lovely studios next to restaurants and small shop ! We were there 2 weeks and loved it ! Owner (Teris ) is the nicest Person on the island! He friendly, helpful and a nice person to chat with or drink something! Studios are clean and equipped with everything you need ! Nice view from balcony to the sea ! Around 150 meters from nicest bay in Karpathos  (KASTELIA BAY) ! If you plan a trip to Karpathos! THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO AND STAY !

We had a great time there! The rooms were clean and big enough. The owners were very helpfull and the location is  beautiful. The taverne with it is also really good. There is a little supermarket across the street what was very easy. 

This year i went for the third time in a row to Karpathos, going back to the same place which hosted me the first time :Taverna Nina. The place is in Amoopi, which is by far my favorite for a number of reasons: it is a perfect compromise. Amoopi is beautiful, close to airport, it has markets, restaurants, beautiful beaches with clean sea, 5KM far from Pollonia but also very quiet and relaxing. Taverna Nina is a family business, Nina is the mother and her sons work there. Place is very cheap ( 20 euro per night), rooms have all the essential things, including air condition, small terrace where you can hang your clothes, private bathroom. The value add is definitely the feeling of being at home, to be well treated and taken care of. Place has a restaurant with a beautiful terrace wich overlook at the sea, there is magic. With 5 euro more per day you can have a rich breakfast with sandwich, egg, greek yogurt and honey and a slice of cake plus coffee or tea and orange juice. Taverna Nina has also a small swimming pool where to relax after a long day on the beach. Food is good and freshly cooked, if they have i recommend the fresh tuna with lettuce and tomato. I recommend to take hair drier as they do not provide it. Rooms are cleaned daily except Sunday and fresh towels are provided. Wifi connection works only if you are in the Taverna restaurant and a little bit in the rooms above Taverna, this is my only recommendation for the future: improve quality of internet connection and take it to all rooms

Best place to stay in Karpathos!

To feel at home

Great time! 

After a delayed arrival due to a hiccup with our flights, we were delighted to finally get to Karpathos.  Unfortunately, however, our first impression of our accommodation was somewhat tarnished by a rather cold reception by Nina.  
The accommodation itself was pretty much as I expected, having looked at the pictures, although, the provision of cutlery, crockery and other cooking utensils was extremely limited.  There was no plug for either the kitchen or the bathroom basin, which made washing up dishes or hand washing any small clothing items very difficult.  We ended up buying a plug from a supermarket!
The rooms were serviced daily during the week, however, washing up of dishes was not always done.
The shower was hand-held as it didn't have a wall unit to hold it in place, which could be an annoyance to some.  The water was only warm in the evenings due to there being a solar heater.
We could hear furniture being moved about in the room above us and next door, and when the wind was strong, it was quite noisy.
It is really disappointing that whilst the level of cleanliness is satisfactory within the accommodation, little care is taken to remove litter from the empty plot of land in front of Nina Studios.  The large garbage bins are on the road between the apartments and the taverna and often litter is scattered around after the garbage delivery van has been, which leaves an odour and is rather unsightly.
Nina's taverna was lovely.  The staff were friendly and their service was good, as was the food.  We enjoyed sitting by the pool quite a bit too.
It is a real shame that Nina is not more friendly.  She was responsive to requests for additional item and repairs, but she always seemed like she was not happy with us.  Perhaps this is owing to a language barrier...or perhaps we did something to upset her, but I don't think so.
Kastlia Bay is the nearest beach which is a short walk down the hill (but quite a tiring walk up afterwards for those who are less fit).  There are a few other beach options within walking distance too, and a selection of tavernas in easy driving distance.  It was a good place to base ourselves, we felt, although we may be inclined to stay elsewhere if we choose to return to this island, simply because we did not feel welcome at Nina Studios.

A Little Disappointing

We just came back from Nina Studios where we stayed one week. The room was simple and wtih a great view of the bay. It was clean and the sheets were changed every 3rd day. However, since it was rented as a studio, we thought it would have the basics like a sponge and dishwashing liquid but it didn't have anything. It would be nice if they provided such basic stuff without having to buy it.
I would recommend this place but beware if you book half pension. The food is really good and you get to choose between 3 main dishes but if you wish to order something extra and pay for the difference, the owner of the taverna will not let you. Don't ask me why... I still haven't figured it out.
All in all, we had a nice stay and definitely recommend it.

My summary of the Property is as follows:

Self Catering Facilities:
Poor, very few utensils, cups, plates, no toaster, no microwave, stove was pretty much useless.

Bathroom:
Poor, no real shower, very small, our toilet would not flush and it took them 2 days to resolve it, no hot water in the mornings as it was all solar gysers.

View & Location:
Poor View, looked at the side of another apartment block, scrappy and untidy plot in front with lots of rubbish in it. Rooms are not near the pool or the taverna, you have to walk 100 meters up the road for these facilities and wifi is only available at the pool.

Area:
The Amoopi area is really nice, it has great beaches, and some nice restaurants. This island is very windy and we found the Amoopi beaches were the most sheltered from the wind, so a good area to stay.

Pretty Island with nice beaches but the accommodation was not good at all, the owner had the manners of a boarding school hostel matron, we would return to the island but not to this accommodation.

Nina Studios - August Visit 2019

It is quite uncommon for me to publish a quite bad review, but for Nina Studios I am afraid this is what I have to do.
We booked a double room via an Italian tour operator (no breakfast and meals). The area in which the studios are built is a real jewel, the structure being sorrounded by flowers and plants and being well designed.
Unfortunately the same is not true for the rooms. When we entered our room for the first time, we found a floor full of hairs,  a broken shower (water everything) and a broken WC (not fixed), that cannot be considered secondary problems. And while the two last issues were fixed in a couple of days, the lack of cleaning became even worse, since we still doubt if our towels were ever changed. Furthermore, the closing trigger of the main door was not perfect and, if you consider the strenght of the Greek wind, it is not hard to imagine how many times we were forced to wake up in the middle of the night.
We decided to have breakfasts at the near taverna, discovering later it was not a buffet breakfast. Although a limited choice was available, I have to say that it was definitely worth the money: some bread with butter and marmalade, a slice of homemade cake and a glass of juice cost 3.50 euros.
If it is feasible for you, I suggest choosing other studios in the same area: Karpathos is a dream island, and Amoopi is a great location to stay in!!! Read my other reviews on Karpathos restaurants, I think they will help you in spending a pleasant holiday (one refers to Nina Taverna, the owner being the same of Nina Studios, and you will discover how much the opinion is different!).
