The Banana Studios

I recently returned from a fortnight at The Banana Studios with my 14 year old daughter and had a completely fantastic time. The apartment itself (No.2) was perfect for our needs. A double bed for me and bunk beds for my daughter. (she slept in the top one and used the bottom as her personal wardrobe/office and iPad station!). The room was spacious and cool with a small kitchen area with cooker and sink etc and we had a basic but fully equipped bathroom with a great shower. Best of all was probably our simply huge balcony though! A real sun trap in the mornings but pleasantly shady after around 11 am. The apartment had absolutely everything we needed with a/c, spacious wardrobe, desk, fridge and all the things already mentioned. As it happened, the only kitchen appliance we used was the kettle as, most days we ate at the excellent Avra Beach Tavern. It's run by the same people (Elini and Ilias), as the Banana so it seemed a good choice. And we were right! Vasilis, the main man at the bar and restaurant, couldn't do enough for us. The food was always superb and the free sun beds were the best place in Benitses to enjoy the fabulous weather and crystal clear water. The Banana Studios apartments are exactly how I like my Greel accommodation to be. A little basic but with LOADS of character. Interestingly though, Ilias told me that they'd opened this season, (due to demand at their other hotel) when they'd originally intended to open Banana Studios next year after more refurbishment. If that's the case, I can't wait to see them next year. And yes, I will see them as I'm definitely going back again! All in all, I found it just right for me and my girl and can honestly say that all the stuff there are amongst the nicest people I've ever met. By the end of the fortnight, we felt like part of their family. Highly recommended!
