We looked for a nice place to stay a little further away from the big Chilean cities and with Las Hualas we found it! Rosa the owner is an amazing woman, she let us feel home and welcomed from the first second on. The bungalows are quite spacious, have a kitchen with all amenities and a comfy bed. From the balcony all visitors have an amazing view direction Ocean and Las Damas Island where the Humboldt Penguin lives (a must do, by the way). We spent 3 nights there and enjoyed it a lot. Amazing location for everybody that wants to enjoy a little solitude on the Chilean coastline. So if you are planning to have an active night life and enjoy gourmet food, the village of Punta de Choros is not your destination ;) By the way, Rosa is very engaged with environmental protection topics, and she will be super excited if you ask her about this. Also she tries to create as little waste as possible in the bungalows, which is a big plus point for me. Also, if you can, book directly on Las Hualas' internet page and not through online hotel booking portals. You'll get way better rates contacting Rosa directly.

Additional information

All citizens of Chile, regardless of the duration of their stay, and all foreigners who stay in the country for at least 60 consecutive days may have to pay the national sales tax (19%) when checking out. To receive tax exemption, foreign citizens must pay for their stay upon entry in foreign currency (not Chilean pesos) or with a credit card issued abroad and present a valid passport along with the migration card they received upon entry into the country. If a person subject to paying the tax and another exempt from the same share a room, the rate may be applied to the entire room.

All Chilean citizens, resident foreigners and foreigners must pay an additional fee (IVA) of 19%. Rates and additional fees must be paid in local currency.
