Chez Mari Yan

If you stay in Sihanoukville a couple of days we can recommend the guesthouse of Mari-Yan (Victory Hill) without limitation, especially if you like wooden khmer-style architecture. There are different "bungalows" on the hillside and if you take one aloft you have a great view over the bay and the city. Our room was very spacious (about 25-30 square meter) with a terrasse/balcony with view and shade. The rooms are completley wooden and simple but tastely furnished (mosquito net included). We enjoyed the silence in this busy city. 5 minutes by food you find different restaurants and bars (one french restaurants was delicious and the Swiss-Khmer Restaurant (The Look) is very good as well. The guesthous is runed by very friendly owners (a Swiss-Camodian Couple who speak fluently french, english and khmer). The price at High Season (we stayed there in January 2012) was very reasonable (about 25 Dollars but I don't remember exactly) means if you look for a luxury accomondation it's probably not the best place for you. But if you look for a tasteful, middleclass and calm place to stay, don't hestitate to choose chez Mari-Yan.
