Vimean Pich House

I have been to this hotel a number of times since my favorite hotel opposite was knocked down. Very reasonable. Internet excellent (though sometimes it's smart to disconnect corridor router power to reboot it like at home). Service is basically non existent so if you want the Ritz then forget this place. Give the guys at night your washing and you'll get it back the next night for a buck all in. They seem more efficient than the ladies in the day. Don't ask why as I have no idea without risking my wife's wrath. Occasionally the floor maid is sick and your room is not done. Best to smile and ask how she is, rather than being the ugly American. The staff are incredibly honest. I've left a passport and money in washing and I got them back. But if you insist on leaving your $1000 jewelry in the room be aware that's a year's salary, and my mother excepted, everyone has their breaking point. So don't be dumb. Shower is strong and warm. Bathroom clean. Air conditioning fine. TV lots of channels. The boys will grab your bags as you arrive. Let them take them and tip them a buck. Maid too. You won't miss it and they will love you. No food, though the receptionist always offers me rice from her own plate. You don't get that generosity at the Ritz. You'll pay well under twenty bucks so don't complain if you are a Marriott type and this place doesn't suit you. Who isn't a Marriott type when the boss is paying. But this place is on my nickel and it's one of my favorite hotels anywhere. Street is quiet. Motorbike taxis outside. Tuktuks too. $20 a whole day. The best way to get one. Try it. If you don't like it then there's probably something wrong with you, not the hotel. Snooty.... Oh their towels are HORRIBLE. That matted material like a blanket. I really must take my own towel next time. They must get them cheap or something. Horrible.
