Lovely courtyards to relax in and a comfy room. Great breakfast too. We also really appreciated the drinking water available. We liked the cool outdoor shower (the water is cool but that wasn't an issue for us as the weather was warm). Would definitely recommend for a relaxing stay!

I stayed here for 3 nights as a female solo traveler in a 4 person dorm. The hostel/hotel is very beautiful with extremely kind staff (Manuel, Andres, +) who can give loads of advice about the area and how to get there and away. 

Breakfast is included and delicious. Amazing coffee, tea, and pastries available at their cafe. 

I was away during most afternoons but would come back to use their WIFI to get a bit done for work which they have a great space for (as well as relaxing). 

The evenings are quiet where there are hammocks to read and relax.

This bed and breakfast offers beautiful grounds. The place is really well decorated, clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful. 
We had a double room super spacious and well clean. 
The breakfast is good you can choose between eggs and cereals +bread , jam, fruit + beverage (coffee , milk coffee, cocoa or tea).

This is not a complaint but an information for futures guests , they don’t have hot water. 

Just didn’t like two things, but this is probably just personal preference, the room is quite dark and the lights are white , which doesn’t give you a cozy feeling. Other thing is the windows without glass or mosquito net or anything to cover, that allows the geckos to get in the room, and I’m not a fan of this little creatures.  

But I would still return and recommend this beautiful place. 



We spent two nights at this very nice hotel/hostal. We had a private room/suite which was very nice. Cute open-air bathroom. All natural materials used. They also serve beer and coffee and sweets. Since it is a hostal and they have communal areas we heard other people talk and laugh but it was all quiet after 9PM. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Barichara is very beautiful. It is not very touristy like other places and much more beautiful and authentic than Villa de Leyva. There is not much choice in terms of hotels and they are quite pricey. This was one of the cheaper options. It is located a few blocks behind the main square. Staff are pleasant but don't speak English. There is a nice coffee shop on site which is really peaceful and relaxing. There are not many rooms so only a few guests. Rooms are adequate for the area. Small. There is no air con or fans but you can open the window. The bathroom has an open window. Rooms are private with own bathroom. There was no hot water the two nights I was there. I did not bother to say anything so had cold showers. No TV. Wifi is fast but seems to disconnect when I went to the room. So, go out of the room towards reception, connect to wifi and then go back to your room and it will work. They need to provide a thicker blanket as it can get quite chilly in the evenings. Rooms are adequate and peaceful. Breakfast is included. They will ask you before what time you want it and what you want. Good selection of eggs, arepas, fruit, bread and a hot drink. Quiet and peaceful. Most people stay in Barichara for one or two nights and this will be fine for it. I would recommend and stay here again. Probably would not suggest staying longer. They have a dog. A big dog. I am normally terrified of dogs but this one is so cute and placid. You can't be scared of him! 

If you go to the beatiful town of Barichara! Definitely you have to go for a coffee to La Casa de Hercilia! A very nice place, warm attention (even Bruno “the dog” is so kind”), great coffee and desserts! We had capuccino, expresso, americano, “leche asada”, lemon pie...
