Staff is great and very informative. First off, you cannot beat the location and the price.  Within walking distance to Lake Ontario and downtown Kingston.  
Stayed in a double room and could not have been happier.  Remember it is a dorm room.  We had a double bed, air conditioning, private bathroom and shower and cable tv.  Yes it's smaller than your average hotel room, but I was there to sleep not to stay in the room.  Clean and comfort are key and this hits the nail on the head.

My friend and i have been backpacking and this is a great alternative to a backpackers hostel. Has basic services as you would expect in student accomodation. Shared kitchen facilities and TV room. A great base for exploration and very affordable.

First time staying in this kind of residence.  Four star hotels are my usual accommodation when travelling only because of the peace of mind of having a clean place to stay the night.  Being peak season now, the 4+ star hotels were charging peak prices so when I came across this residence and read that it has suites with two bedrooms, ac and private washroom, I thought I'd give it a try.  I'm glad I did!

Though the deco was bare, it was clean and bright, spacious  and lot of storage spaces. Comfy bed, room had a window. Ac that worked, easily accessible outlets to plug in chargers, etc. clean bathroom.

Loved the idea of having my own room, the two rooms in the suite are separated by a shared bathroom.  One thing to remember is to unlock the door on the other side after you're done with the washroom or your room mate will not be able to access it.

Towels and two tiny soap are provided.  No hair dryer.  The standing shower has no shelves at all.  You have to place your soap or body wash on the floor, and kind of makes it difficult to shower having to reach for the soap and body down on the floor of the shower.  If you are using a soap bar, make sure you have a soap dish.  Or bring one of those body wash which you can hook over the shower head.   This was the only negative point about the place.

There is no coffee machine in the room, the common lounge is just down the hallway on the floors.  It has a free wifi there, as well as kitchen and lounge.

Front desk is very friendly.  Location is great, walking distance to restaurants and city hall and waterfront.  Good location, clean room, friendly staff, no complaints except for the shower.  Oh make sure you pull the shower curtain closed, or else you'll be walking out to a very wet floor.

Highly recommend this place if you're not looking for a fancy place, but a clean and well located place to stay.

A very plesant stay

Great for those on a budget

My son and I stayed here for a soccer tournament on June 16 & 17 '17.  Check-in was confusing, you check in one place and have to leave area for the rooms.  The lobby is nice but No T.V. Only Wifi but No Wifi in the room.  Have to bring  you own soap, shampoo etc.  $99.00 + tax is a fair price but if my whole family was joining us we would have stayed at a hotel.  The Leggett Hall needs at least Wifi in the rooms.  The Friday night was boring for my son and I.  Location was okay but you need a car.  No pool! Basic you get 2 double beds and a shower.

Average for a student resident.

We stayed the Leggett Hall last weekend with our son's soccer team during a soccer tournament.  It's not a hotel… it's a student residence building and it feels and looks like a student residence. 

One earlier reviewer mentioned the showers and towels - well both points are true - the water pressure in the shower is so strong that a shower feels like an assault by water and the towels leave a white, fluffy residue that will show up on your black clothes!

Wifi in the room was available if the room was close to a common area.

The kids had a great time.  The team had use of a kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave) but no utensils, dishes or anything else, so bring what you need.  Great for team breakfasts and lunches.  

Study rooms were great as hang out places for the kids.  Our team had a block of rooms in a section of the residence so it was nice not to feel like we were disturbing anyone and the kids could play together and meet up easily.

Overall the stay was a positive experience, but it's NOT a hotel.
