Ok…. Bit of a late review here. But I’ve seen so much negativity in the reviews, I just had to speak out. We went in June 2024. We absolutely loved the place. In fact, we return at the end of September this year and are already booked for June 2026. I’ll admit I had a dodgy stomach but it doesn’t take much if I’m truthful. This happens in the UK. I’ve read that people are unhappy with the drinks and the food. Well, look, I thought the beer was ‘ok’ at best, but the red wine was nice so I changed over to that. The food hall can be chaotic but if you choose your times more wisely, it’s fine. My only complaint about the food hall was too many kids running around unattended. Basic manners dictate that if you take your little ones away with you, have some respect for others who are eating. Don’t let them run riot! The food was top notch and plentiful. We didn’t use the pools. We didn’t want to get into the lottery of getting a sunbed. Instead, we used the beach, which is awesome. We were given a little tip by the beach attendants ref: beach sellers. If you ask the attendants for a red flag, they will bring one and tie it to your parasol and this is a warning to the sellers that they must not approach you. We tipped the beach attendant on day one and from there on in, we had the same beds and parasol every day for 2 weeks and when we arrived at the beach, the towels were already on the beds. Ok, some will say you shouldn’t have to tip the beach attendants but please remember, they earn an absolute pittance in comparison to us over in the UK. Next time you complain about the work you do for the pay you get, just remember the staff at these hotels! But unlike plenty of Brits I know, these guys are happy and smiley at work. People have mentioned the grounds staff. I agree, they work tirelessly to make that place look stunning. Our room cleaner was super friendly and was always on hand to assist. The room was kept clean and tidy with fresh towels daily. Our air con packed in so we spoke with hotel staff at the reception desk and we got a room change. I’ve seen some of the reviews mention the key cards being temperamental. This is true, but something we learnt was, if you have them in your pocket next to your mobile phone, it kills the card. This happened twice to me but just as soon as I kept the card and the phone apart, no more key card issues. Personally, I think wherever you go in the world, you’re always going to find a hotel, a bar, restaurant, hotel and bar staff, etc etc, that don’t meet your expectations. That’s just life! The UK at this moment in time is horrendous. There’s very little to celebrate. Just accept that your world isn’t going to be perfect at this hotel 100% of the time. Enjoy it for what it is. Enjoy the sun, the beaches, the snorkelling and time away with loved ones. If it’s total luxury and top of the range drinks and food service you want, pay extortionate money and go somewhere more exclusive, but I’ll guarantee you one thing. As with most holidays abroad, you’ll return with a lovely sun tan, plenty of stories to tell, excursions to tell people about and once you’re back at work, you’ll be wishing you were back at Jasmine Palace!
