If you are looking to escape the madness of Italy's mainland, go to Elba - but stay at the Hotel Corallo in Pomonte, in the district of Marciana. You won't find top luxury, noisy bars or Red hot nightlife but quiet, romantic and delicious food. I was there to compete in the Elbaman and it involved a rather early Sunday morning start. Rolando was there making coffee for us at 5am in the morning :-)
