Villa EUR - Parco dei Pini

Peaceful Stay in Rome with Nature, Comfort & Some Honest Hospitality We picked Villa Eur Parco dei Pini mainly for its location—just a 15–20 minute walk from La Nuvola, where I had a conference. Not too many options nearby, so we went ahead—and we’re glad we did! The hotel is around 30 minutes from Fiumicino Airport. Check-in was smooth, and the reception even handed us a list of nearby restaurants, which was a nice touch. It’s set a bit apart from the main city buzz, on a quiet hilltop. After a long-haul flight, we were too tired to venture out and opted for dinner at the in-house restaurant. Nothing fancy, but it did the job. Our room (304) was clean and minimal, with a comfy king-sized bed and a simple bathroom (bonus: a bidet!). No tea/coffee machine in the room though. When we asked, they admitted they had one somewhere but couldn’t find it at the time! To their credit, they followed up the next day during housekeeping and delivered it—honest, helpful service that we appreciated. What stood out most was the calm. We woke up each morning to the sounds of birds—not something you expect in a busy city like Rome. The sunrise view from our window was a daily treat. Breakfast was basic and repetitive, and the restaurant staff were a bit hit-or-miss when it came to speaking English or being warm. Also, out of 400+ TV channels, not a single one in English! The hotel has a gym (quite busy), an attached church, lecture halls, and a spacious lobby. The building feels more like a residential complex than a typical hotel, but it works. It looks like a 4-star but is more accurately a solid 3-star experience. Uber was always just 2–3 minutes away. We explored a lovely pizzeria and a gelato shop nearby. City centre spots like Termini or the Colosseum are about 30–40 minutes away by car. All in all, a peaceful and comfortable stay with a touch of honesty and heart. Ideal if you’re attending an event at La Nuvola and prefer quiet over chaos.
