We loved our stay here. Maurizio and his wife are so friendly and hospitable. Amazing hosts-from helping make sure our car tires were properly inflated, making dinner reservations for us at the Italian restaurant next door (which was very good) to making breakfast for us the next morning. Strongly recommend!

Lovely B & B, very nice owners, personable, offered suggestions for area activities. Breakfast was very nice, homemade pasties, great coffee, fresh juices

This plazwas wonderful and peaceful after our spa day.  Our host was warm , friendly and inviting! He was also very knowledgeable and a wealth of information.  Breakfast was delicious.  He even went out of his way to go next door to book us a dinner reservation

A nice little hotel in the countryside, minutes away from Saturnia's thermal waters and breathtaking burgs such as Pitigliano. The staff was incredibely helpful and polite.  The rooms were clean and had a big bathroom.I highly recommend this hotel especially to travellers on a budget

We needed a place for one night and this was a winner! Great hosts immaculate rooms, convenient location to therms. Great restaurant right next door. Price was reasonable. breakfast was good. There are no air conditioners but the tile floor has a cooling system running through it. We were happy with place and definitely would return if in the area.

Great one night stay

We are driving all of Italy for 3 months, and this was our favourite stay. Beautiful doom featuring under floor cooling, and heating in winter. No need for air conditioning cool all the time with fresh air. Mauritanian was our host and gave us information on where to go, restaurants etc’. Parking, breakfast all excellent. Excellent stay.

Excellent in all respects, highly recommended

The resort is very clean, quiet and comfortable. Short drive to the hot springs.  When we checked in, we met with the owner and the son and the next morning at breakfast, we met with the owner's wife too.  Very nice family, all are very helpful and friendly. Plenty to eat at breakfast.  They've also made home baked pastry for breakfast which taste great.  Easy parking, and just couple minute walk will take you to a nice very restaurant next to the resort.  Highly recommended.

This was the perfect place to stay! It is very close to the thermal baths and surrouning towns and restaurants. It is kept very clean and the rooms are very comfortable. The breakfast provided was delicious. Everything was fresh and homemade by one of the owners, Valy. Maurizzio, was also very kind and hospitable. We felt like we were staying with friends! Thank you Valy and Maurizzio!

A wonderful hotel near Cascade de Molino. The suite is absolutely amazing, with separate bedroom and living room, and a bathroom with a full spa installed. This is our place to go when stopping for the Saturnia thermal baths. You'll have to drive to to nearby villages for dinner, but well worth for the food. Breakfast is great, with homemade pastries and good.

Great stay in Tuscany

Most visitors to Tuscany have a preset itinerary stopping at the beautiful and obligatory cities of Florence , Siena, San Geminiano etc. Yet, the region of Tuscany called Maremma which is proximate to the sea offers a more intimate experience  ( i.e. Fewer tourist) with local historical towns like Montemerano and Saturnia with the benefit of some very nice beaches.

Between these two famous and must visit locations, you can stay at a nice hotel called Poggio Bertino.  On our occasion, we used it as a one night stay before playing golf at Saturnia Golf Club.

The hotel is hidden from the road with a sign that rapidly appears due to its position about 2 km away from Montemerano on a straightaway and with a restaurant next door.

The hotel shares its property with a few adjoining neighbors so initially you may be puzzled as to where to go... Follow the the unpaved road and no more than 50 meters on the right you will find it.

Some highlights:

- The hotel and room were exceptionally clean.
- The owner is extremely welcoming and helpful with many valuable insights of what to see, to do and where to eat.
- The suite on the second floor was spacious and functional.
- The area is very quiet at night and slept with open windows
- The homemade breakfast was most tasty ( more on that later)

Some suggestions
- It is most impressive that such a small establishment has even solar energy panels. Perhaps a small green hedge to hide the equipment would also complement what is otherwise a very well manicured garden.
- A small desk or standing fan  in the room can make the room cooler by circulating the air and leveraging the floor cooling system.

We arrived late in the evening with directional assistance from the owner.  The room was good in size with a pullout sofa at the entrance followed by a large bathroom (and a vast jacuzzi - bathtub) with the master suite at the end.

After settling in, the owner was kind enough to recommend and make reservations for us at a restaurant in the nearby historic town of Montemerano.  The suggestion was excellent as the restaurant terrace overlooked the valley below and an after dinner walk " around town" was a good way to digest the plentiful dinner.

The night was restful as the area is extremely quiet.  The morning breakfast is included with many home cooked  items.  While the table was appointed with some cornetti, bread and cakes, the owner immediately pointed out that he was willing to prepare anything we wanted- hot or cold items which would also be included in the stay.  

Being a light breakfast eater that which was presented sufficed. It must be pointed out that the ricotta, peach crostata and fresh Tuscan bread were very tasty.

All in all, the stay was a very good one with a reasonable cost and the added benefit of warm and genuine hospitality.

A very good stay + an extra star for the warm hospitality

This was our last stop during our trip to Italia.  The goal for the stop was to relax in the Cascade del Mulino.  It was pleasant to see that we were about 5 minutes drive to the Cascade.   The water was nice and warm and we were amazed that there was no entrance or parking fees.You have to try the pizza at the restaurante near by (i cannot remember the name but do ask the hotel owners).   You also will enjoy a wonderful breakfast before the excursion.

Location was amazing for the final leg of our itialian trip.  Close to Cascade del Mulino (gem with no entrance fee...)  and close to medieval cities (bagnoregio, pitigilano).

Small inn with friendly staff.  Breakfast was excellent and we had amazing discussions with the staff.  They provided recommendations for nearby restaurants and we found a excellent place for traditional pizza.

What an amazing find on our 6 week Europe holiday. A lovely setting with lots of sightseeing close by. The owner was English speaking and we enjoyed a beer with him in the afternoon.  Breakfast was cooked by his wife absolutely beautiful and filling. We extended our stay within 1 hour of arriving with no problemsIf you are staying in the area. Do yourself a favour and stay here. Great ideas were forward to us to visit and places to eat. If I ever come back to Italy I will stay here for a week to relax and highly recommend you stay as well.  I can't understand why this is so few stars. Much better than som of the upmarket hotels we stayed at. Just felt like home. Thank you so much for our stay and your hospitality. Sue and Grahame
