We spent a week at the Hotel Carlton and had a wonderful stay. It was a great omen that our cat is named Carlton! But everything at this hotel was perfect for us. Check in was quick and friendly and the friendliness and efficiency and care continued throughout our stay. The location is absolutely brilliant. There is a supermarket across the road which is open every day. The tram stop is very close and it’s 4 stops into the town centre but if you get the tram in the other direction it will take you up a hill to a large shopping mall with a multi screen cinema showing movies in Czech or English with Czech subtitles. There are also shops, bars and restaurants steps away from the hotel. The restaurants include Italian, Czech and Asian. You are close to the TV tower (that was the amazing view from our bedroom window!) which is fantastic to visit. The hotel itself is well decorated and comfortable throughout. There is a comfortable lounge and bar just off the lobby. Free maps of Prague are available and very helpful. The reception staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Our bedroom was on the top floor and was spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning was perfect and very welcome after hot days out. I slept so well as it was so quiet at night and the bed was so comfortable. The room and bathroom was equipped with everything we could possibly need. Great hairdryer, lovely toiletries, good sized towels. Plenty of storage space for your clothes and everything else. The TV has lots of channels and worked well. The lift was fast and everywhere was kept spotlessly clean. Housekeeping was prompt and efficient. A breakfast buffet is served in the basement rooms. It was very cool and inviting in there and there was a wonderful choice on the buffet every day. The juices were fresh and the coffee better than most hotels I’ve stayed in. I loved the choice of cold meats, pates, cheeses and different kinds of bread and my husband loved the cooked items, bacon, eggs, sausages, it was all there. And there were also some amazing pastries, muffins and cakes! I honestly can’t think of any way our stay could have been better and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I am really looking forward to a return visit.
