We booked the hotel as part of a Jet2 package. It is located centrally and there is a Metro station (Jaume 1) across the road. There are plenty of coffee bars and several restaurants within easy walking distance, including a good Irish bar/restaurant across the road (Dunne's). We caught the Aerobus from the airport (board this just outside Building B). It takes you to Catalyuna Square, then look for the Place d-Angel to walk to the hotel. Our bedroom was well-equipped and the ensuite especially was beautifully appointed. The only slight downside was that our room overlooked the road, so there was some traffic noise. Might be best to request a room that is quieter. Staff are all helpful and friendly. Breakfast service was excellent and it's a nice touch that croissants and fresh juice are brought to each table. Choice of food is good. The rooftop bar is pleasant, prices are not too high and it's a nice place to sit. It would be nice if the ground level bar was also open, especially when the weather is not good enough to sit outside on the top floor. Would recommend highly a pre-booked tour (Viatour do great tours) of the Sagrada Familia - stunning! La Rambla very disappointing. We visited some years ago and it was amazing, but they are now 'improving it' (!) and there are no living statues and very little atmosphere. The Metro system in the city is easy to use, quite cheap and very frequent and quick.
