Hotel Lleo

We stayed here during our mini-moon in June and struck lucky with the location. You're only a 5-7 minute walk to La Ramblas, in the other direction there's the university & the Placa de Catalunya, only a 15-20 minute walk to Casa Bastllo & Casa Mila. It is a bit far out for the beach but there's an amazing transport system close by via the Metro and buses. We upgraded to a room with a balcony and enjoyed the views overlooking the university and the perfect spot to people watch, the room was clean and spacious and came with everything we needed. The rooftop pool is lovely, there's a small bar where you can get lite bites for lunch and a good selection of cocktails, beers and soft drinks. There's not a huge amount of bed space around the pool but there's an upper terrace where there's additional beds. The bar staff were so friendly and showed us how to use the retractable overhead shades. Breakfast has a good choice of everything you'd want, from eggs, cold meats, cheeses, sausages, fruits, cereals, pastries etc plus any hot drink you could want and we even spotted a bottle of cava near the orange juicer so you could make mimosas if you fancied. We'd absolutely recommend this hotel. Roomed where clean, comfortable bed, aircon, the staff were incredibly friendly, the front of house staff helped us book taxis and gave us directions and recommendations for places to go and eat.
