This remarkable hotel is getting an unjustified hammering on here. I stayed two nights, 17th & 18th April 2016. No, it does not meet modern standards. Yes, there are issues with dilapidation. But by staying there, you have are literally experiencing history. The decor (all of which is still perfectly functional) is unchanged since it was built in 1981, and mostly in original condition. I really enjoyed my stay. The bedsheets were clean, the staff are all lovely, I was on the 13th floor with a spectacular view of the town, Stari Grad and River Detinja. Hot water took a few minutes but was strong and consistent. Sumptuous breakfast of omelette, yoghurt, bread & jam and Turkish coffee, served by a waiter, included. Now I'm not saying it will be for everyone: but if you're into retro architecture and Yugostalgia, it can't be missed.
