We really enjoyed our stay with Steve and Lesley. The accommodation was first class, very clean and tidy. A hearty very tasty breakfast set us up wonderfully for the day ahead.
A great place to stay to explore Lynton & Lynmouth and the surrounding area. 

My partner & I have just returned home after spending 4 lovely days staying at The Woodlands 
We were greeted warmly by Steve,who made sure we had everything we needed on arrival.
Our room was gorgeous, lovely big comfy bed, beautiful wet room ensuite. A big bay window with 2 tub chairs where you could sit and look at the beautiful valley & listen to the river rushing past.
The breakfasts were gorgeous, fantastic choice and beautifully prepared may I say Steve! 😁 The Eggs Benedict were one of the best I've ever had.
Lesley & Steve couldn't do enough for you,Lesley kindly suggested a fabulous walk for us which we really enjoyed....thanks Lesley.
The Woodlands is full of character & warmth and we loved our stay there.

I would definitely recommend Woodlands. Stayed with a friend in room 3, a good size room with large wet room style bathroom, comfortable beds, everything looked well looked after & cleaned. The room was very well decorated, obviously a lot of thought went into it. The breakfast menu was extensive and very good. The hosts, Lesley & Steve, are extremely helpful and friendly. 
The only slight caveat is for anyone with major mobility issues, as the drive up from the roadside parking to the front door is very steep.

Wonderful hosts, superb breakfast, excellent location, spotlessly clean. We had a very enjoyable 5 night stay at Woodlands and would highly recommend it. Very convenient walkway to Lynton at the back of the house and nearby access to woodland trails and coastal walks, means limited need to use the car. Short driving distance to some wonderful beaches and nice country pubs.

Had a lovely 4 night stay here with my partner. Staff all very accommodating and friendly, breakfast was nice. We were on the top floor so expected the heat to be unbearable but thankfully they'd thought ahead and put a fan in the room! 

Only slight downside was the very tiny bathroom (mainly for my 6ft partner) but understand there's not a great deal they can do about that!

Would recommend. Within walking distance of both central Windermere and Bowness.

This was brought for myself and my girlfriend as a belated birthday present by my two youngest children. 
Had a wonderful time the room was superb and the verity of breakfast was excellent.
Steve and Lesley can’t do enough for you. 
Would highly recommend to anyone.

We had a wonderful stay at Woodlands. The room was immaculate, peaceful, and comfortablee. Lesley and Steve were fantastic hosts, helpful and considerate, making sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast options were brilliant: highights were the most creamy porridge I have ever eaten, the veggie breakfast and healthy green juice. Made to order with care and high quality ingredients - definitely not your usual buffet fare and the perfect fuel for walking! Lesley and Steve are highly knowledgeable and made great recommendations on what to do in the area and where to eat nearby. The house is situated next to a beautiful rushing river and the communal areas including the terrace and garden room were tranquil. Cannot speak highly enough of our experience. Hope to be back soon!

My partner and I stayed at Woodlands Guesthouse for 2 nights and I can honestly say we didn't want to leave. We would like to say a big thank you to Steve and Leslie for making our stay so safe and pleasant, the included breakfast was perfect and the location is only a short walk away from the town. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. Everything was perfect, we will definitely be back!

Best break for years. Usually stay in hotels but decided on a guest house for a change. Best decision we made.
Hosts were lovely and friendly, nothing too much trouble. Breakfasts were massive, great setup for a long day walking!
Location was further out of of town as we didn’t want to be crowded in. 
Soon sussed out places to eat in the evening. However, the hosts do dinner in the evening which according to fellow guests was amazing. When we come back will definately book to eat in.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in Lynton at Woodlands Guesthouse. Our room was large and comfortable with a lovely balcony - in the summer this would be have been even lovelier! The view of the valley and trees was beautiful with sounds of birdsong. 

Lesley and Steve are relaxed hosts who do all they can to make ones stay as pleasant as possible and it is all Covid secure. Breakfast choice was varied and the quality excellent. They clearly take care to source high quality ingredients. 

We would highly recommend Woodlands to anyone planning a trip to Lynton or Lynmouth.

Lovely stay

We stayed in the guesthouse for three nights in total and it exceeded all our expectations!  Lesley and Steve are wonderful hosts and made sure we had everything we needed.  We stayed in the room “watersmeet” and it is tastefully decorated, very spacious with lovely woodland views from the balcony.  The bathroom is very modern and way more generous in size compared to most guesthouses we have come across.

We were a bit concerned about the location to start with but the walk to Lynton center via the walkway took less than 10 minutes with lovely views along the way.  In the end we were actually quite glad we didn’t stay in Lynton center as it would have been a bit too busy for us.

We had the pleasure of eating dinner at the guesthouse one night and the food was absolutely fantastic.  Breakfast was again a highlight and was cooked to perfection every morning.  There is also a Thai restaurant down the road from the B and B with lovely food.

Woodlands is by far one of the best places we have stayed at and it is well worth every penny.  I would highly recommend it for anyone who is considering a holiday in Lynton.

Amazing stay in Lynton

Well what a fab place, Steve and Lesley are so welcoming. If you’re looking for a nice, quiet getaway this is a little gem! We spent 2 nights here mid September. The North Devon coast is spectacular so we spent the first day on Woolacombe beach, just 20 miles away, arrived to a Covid safe self service check in, very well thought out. We ate at the Thai restaurant literally 5 mins walk away, very nice. The second day we did the circular walk to Watersmeet, which was why we initially chose Lynmouth, we ended up doing 10 miles instead of 3, but the views were spectacular and well worth the achy legs! Such a gorgeous place, Steve and Lesley are great hosts, who cook the best breakfast with a great choice of food to suit everyone, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend :) Thank you to you both.
