I stayed in an all female dorm room- as a mature traveler it has been the first time in many years. It was super comfortable, safe with lockers and the best hot and powerful shower I had for a week traveling. PLUS the best part is the amazing free breakfast you get every morning with a choice of 4 options, coffee and fresh juice. Plus the italian food at the restaurant is great and they do not charge any extra fees at the hotel or restaurant when using your credit card which is a bonus. It overlooks the lagoon and it only cost me $13 a night which was a steal!!

It’s rare that a hostel gets everything right, and Wild Olive Hostel is that rare gem. This charming, spacious place perfectly complimented my stay at an amazing desert oasis. Located in front of the lagoon and close to everything as Huacachina is so small, one was guaranteed a peaceful nights sleep despite the buzzing nightlife being literally just opposite. 
When entering, the building is pretty and grand, airy and bright; from the welcoming reception area, well equipped kitchen to the huge, comfortable lounge with a massive TV and the super spacious rooms with extra large bunk beds. I could do a full workout in the dorms! 
The bathrooms were on point; big shower cubicles with constant hot water and hooks for your towels and clothes. Disposable hand towels so you don’t have to leave with wet hands all the time. And most importantly a full length mirror. 

As you continue on to the terrace/restaurant overlooking the lagoon, this place is also an Italian restaurant but a little pricey so I didn’t eat here. However I did have the free breakfast which was amazing. You could order what you wanted off the menu and there was more choice than the usual, including an omelette with an array of filling choices. 
I spent a couple hours nursing a coffee here and looking out onto the lagoon encircled by towering sand dunes. 

Luckily at night the place never felt cold and I could sleep comfortably in my shorts and T as the blankets were super cosy and beds comfortable as you like. Sockets at every bed too. 

The vibe was good too. Social but chill. Over the road there were plenty of places to have a drink and go to a party hostel if that’s your thing. Otherwise people could gather in the lounge over a film/footie/news and easily make friends as a solo traveller. 



I stayed in a dorm room and paid 30 soles as I booked through Peru hop. This was excellent value for money. A clean comfy bed, a great common area with huge TV and Netflix, good lockers in the room, and an excellent breakfast that was included but would have been 18 soles at the standard restaurant price. Delicious coffee and a great view of the Oasis. Can’t fault the place. 

Wild Olive offers a very chill vibe so this isn't a party/social hostel. I would recommend this if you're needing some recoop time or traveling in a group of three or more. The food at the adjoined restaurant was really good though moderately priced. The showers were decent as well as the dorms. The only common area they have is a room with a couple of couches and a wall mounted television that offers Netflix. However, this is in Huacachina so you'll be wanting to rest as much as you can before and after traversing the sand dunes and this is the place to do it!

AMAZING VALUE, LOCATION AND FOOD!!

Perfection 

Very chill vibe

Excellent value for money 

We stayed in a family room which was clean and a good size. It's quite basic though. The common facilities seemed nice, clean and calm. We really enjoyed the restuarant and the staff are friendly. My big complaint is the noise. The music from surrounding places are loud and we weren't able to get much sleep. Our last night was a Tuesday and the music went until 6am. It's a shame.

Nice, basic place with great restaurant, but loud

The food was absolutely top notch especially the pizzas! The breakfast is really good too and included in the price. The staff were alright, could’ve smiled a bit more! We only stayed for one night and it was a Saturday so was party night and we might’ve well had the DJ in our bathroom it was that loud. I did however have earplugs which was a life saver or otherwise I’d be dreaming of Martin garrix all night. Recommended for couples! 

Decent but loud 

We stayed in a private room.
The sand was everywhere,on the beds sheet, in the bathroom,like no one was cleaning there for a while. I do understand that it's a desert but a small clean up before the guests wouldn't harm anybody.
At the end we slept inside our bed liners.
The general overview of the room was very bad. Photos included.
We stayed in many hostels in Peru but that was the worst. Looks like the owners don't care about anything else than the money coming from the tourists. For that price for a night I was expecting something better. 
Go somewhere else !
