Whitworth Inn Bed & Breakfast

We stayed there to be near my husband's daughter for a week's visit.  The owners were delightful, the bed great.  Everything was clean and comfortable.  Large breakfasts and my husband was able to keep food in their refrigerator.  Ideal place if your travels take you to northeast Georgia.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our recent stay at this lovely B&B. Owners very friendly and helpful. Room spacious, bed great: I have a severe back problem yet slept very well. Satellite tv and good (free) wifi. Different tasty breakfast each day (eggs and bacon, pancakes, french toast) always with fresh fruit. Good location close to the lake and waterpark and only 15 min to large mall in Buford. Bathroom a bit small but very clean. I missed not having a mini-fridge, but the owners were quick to provide ice when requested. Can highly recommend!

We loved our stay. Very convenient to hiking in north GA, waterfalls, etc. Reasonable rates, quiet, comfortable beds, very clean. The innkeepers were very friendly. If you need something, just ask...like extra pillows, ice buckets, wine glasses. Grounds were very nice and I loved sitting out on the front porch 2nd floor. Maybe could use a few more rocking chairs if the inn was full. We will definitely stay there again. As a side note, we went to Fish Tales at a marina right nearby. It was great, good food, fast service and live entertainment.

My family and I were travelling from the uk and wanted a b&b just outside of atlanta so we could recover from our long haul flight and then continue our journey the next day. Flowery branch suited our needs. I saw the pictures on line and thought this was a good choice. 
In the month before we travelled I emailed the owner to book three rooms. I got a reply to say the rooms were reserved for us and no deposit would be required.  I emailed back to advise our flight did not land in atlanta until around 6 so by the time we clear immigration and picked up our car it could be late when we arrive but that we would definitely be coming. They were happy with that.

As it turned out our flight was brought forward so it was 4 by the time we arrived very jet lagged at the Whitworth Inn. We got out of the cars to be met by a man telling us that he had a bad back and couldnt take us. I explained that I had booked. He said I should have called him a few days previous to confirm! ? I have never had to ring to confirm a booking that I had an email confirmation for! Plus its an international call! He said he would have rung me but he didn't have my number- yes because its in the uk! 
He did have my email address so he could/should have emailed me to advise of the issue.
 I then asked if there were anywhere else close by and he directed us to the comfort inn. Good customer service would have rung ahead before our arrival to see if they had any room. He just didnt care. 
We drove to the comfort inn that thankfully did gave 3 rooms available.  All were very comfortable.  
What would have happened if we had arrived late god only knows and he certainly wouldn't have cared.

Beware..stay at own risk...never got past check inn ... ! Had booked thru hotel booking .. Treated us as though we were in the way if the two men playing on the computer....lobby smelled like sweet syrup.....good luck but I will never try again.
