Lovely, small, clean hotel. Very friendly staff, breakfast was great.  Location was perfect for us to celebrate Fasnacht in the town.  Easy walk from the train station too.

Brilliant location for Fasnacht

A very different hotel in the heart of a beautiful town.Lovely breakfast and dinner.The manager was extremely helpful and so pleasant.

Every few years we've had occasion to stay at this lovely hotel on Waldshut's vehicle free town/market square. I suspect not many Americans visit this town on the Rhine river, a stone's throw from Switzerland. We do because we have family in the area. The Waldshuter Hof has been around for years, with comfortable, clean rooms and a fine restaurant. If you're driving there's a convenient parking garage just behind the hotel.  A recent stay confirmed how much we like this simple welcoming property. Rooms over the square will pick up noise, as voices carry up, but we find it, oh I don't know, kind of communal. The breakfast buffet is fairly extensive with plenty of breads, cheese, meat, eggs, fruit and so on. For value and comfort -- but certainly not luxury -- it's the place to stay in Waldshut.

Venerable spot on old town platz

Stayed at the Waldshuter Hof hotel for one night and picked it based on location (middle of the old town) and reasonable price (EUR 60 for a one-person room). Room was small and under the roof, had not been renovated in quite a while (old carpet, old bathroom). At least it was clean and functional, which made for an OK stay at an OK price. Internet worked well (no password needed), staff was friendly.

Great location and well marinated, yet dated - can be a good deal

for the money, this hotel is probably the best in the area.  the location / service / rooms are excellent, and the restaurant is absolutely first class.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in and we have no hesitation in recommending it.The staff are attentive service and accomodating, the complimentary breakfast is extensive. We tried the chateaux briand and it's as good as any we have ever had.WE WILL BE BACK!

Christmas and New year 2019/2020 visit 10 nights

We stayed one night at Waldshuter Hof, and found the hotel to be very well located. The service was very good, and particularly Nicholas was very caring, as our luggage was extensively delayed by our tour operator. The restaurant was closed for dinner, but breakfast was first class. The room was more than adequate, and well appointed. Overall, the hotel was very clean, and the staff very courteous and friendly. We’d stay here again.

Centrally located hotel, providing very good service

Booked in to the hotel for three nights - enjoyed our stay so much that we overstayed by a night!!!! The room was clean and bright overlooking the main pedestrian area. A restaurant is attached with a special three course menu for residents. Service was prompt (as expected from German establishments) and the staff friendly. My wife has a need for a gluten- and lactose free diet and the staff went out of their way satisfy her requirements.The restaurant is closed Sundays and Mondays but we found a good replacement in the 'Zur Alten Post' almost directly opposite. Those travelling by car can access the hotel via the street at the rear and garage parking is available on request in the private garage a couple of hundred metres away.

Thank you to the staff and management for making for a wonderful first trip to the black forest, we will be back again!
