Felt like home Surrey. Carpeted rooms, neat bathrooms. Kitchenette and a lounge.  English Speaking Assistant Manager always willing to help.
Affordable with balcony, with Red Sea view.
Parking and concierge.

Hotel located in Alwajh city. 4-5kms from Tabuk-Yanbu main road. Even though its two starts hotel, staffs tried their best to facilitate guest at their best. we found this hotel through booking.com, you can find different types of rooms. sea view rooms are little expensive when compare to other rooms. complimentary breakfast available for all rooms. breakfast is not up to standard and did not see any refilling. you can pay and get lunch and dinner from hotel restaurant. only Arabic foods available. rooms are spacious and good.

Wejh beach hotel, Al Wajh, Saudi Arabia

This is a 2 star Saudi hotel, so it's never going to be the Ritz. Everything is really tatty and tired. The staff however do try - I reported a couple of problems and they responded almost immediately.
The food is dreadfully repetitive - there is a long menu on display for the evening meal, but in reality there are only about 3 dishes available. They are cooked well, but you don't have to stay here very long to exhaust the menu.
There are zero facilities in this hotel for guests. Despite booking.com stating there is a sauna, and rather bizarrely for Saudi Arabia darts & pool, there are none of these things here.

Ok for an overnight stay, but not for much more.

Really run down 

We stayed at Al Wajh Beach hotel because it is halfway between Aqaba and Jeddah, and that was the drive we were making.  

First off, the positives:  The hotel is right on the sea so you get some good air and good views in.  All the workers were friendly and accommodating.  

We travel with 3 children so we got a two-bedroom apartment with a kitchen.  There was lots of space and more than enough beds for everyone.  That's where the room positives end.  The kitchen was totally bare--no utensils, no pots & pans, and a fridge that didn't work.  I don't know what the point of a kitchen is if there's nothing to cook with or to hold food in.  

In both bathrooms, when we flushed the toilets sewage water would come up from the floor--both smelled of detergents (that had been used to clean) mixed with urine (coming up from the floor in the sewage water).  There were shower curtains (!) but no towels, no soap or shampoo, and no floor mats.  Given that the floors were covered with a thin film of dirty water, we chose not to shower the night we stayed here.  That's a huge letdown when you're in the middle of a long road trip.  

The air conditioners look to be about 25 years old--they are run down, broken, and blow dusty or stinky air into the rooms.  This wouldn't be a huge problem except that it was around 33C inside the rooms.  So do we choose to sweat all night or to breathe in dusty air?  

The floors were clean, and the bedrooms had carpet, which was nice, but it's really old and dingy carpet.  The pillows were awful; lumpy, huge, and uncomfortable.  I slept without one and fortunately our kids had brought their own so they were okay.

Because we had a two bedroom apartment we had our own wifi network, but it was so slow it would have taken itunes 55 minutes to download one song (I know cause I tried!).  That's like 1997 speeds of internet.  

Our kids wouldn't touch the food at the restaurant for dinner so we gave them yogurt drinks and chips just for the calories--The menu isn't accurate either because the first 5 things we asked for they didn't have.  

Breakfast was okay--ignore the menu though because all they have is the American Breakfast.  The eggs and toast were good and all we ate in the end. 

We found a cockroach in the apricot jam (a little packet that a tiny cockroach had crawled into and then died), the tomatoes were nasty (but it's really really hard to get good tomatoes in Saudi Arabia anyway), the orange juice was tang, and the coffee was nescafe.  The man who served us was doing his best to give us good service, and it's obvious it's not his fault that things are the way they are there.
