Spent 2 nights here very recently. Nice, quiet hotel with friendly staff. Well located for exploring the town, especially the 'old' town which is fascinating. Lots of fascinating buildings and - of course - Lenin's childhood home and museum about him, as well as plenty of other museums. Ulyanovsk is well worth a visit and the Volga is a great place to base yourself. They only serve breakfast, not dinner, but there are plenty of good eating places within easy walking distance. The breakfast dining room is quite small, given the size of the hotel, so you may need to be flexible about timing - though we didn't have any problem.
