I wrote this review on Google Review and I'm sharing this on TripAdvisor in order to help more people. 

This hostel/guest house is in appallingly horrific conditions, and not at all ready to receive guests. First off, this place is not worth the price we paid. After seeing the conditions of the facilities I would not pay more than $50 for a bed here, and that’s pushing it. Second, this place is still very much recovering from Hurricane Maria and was under construction when we arrived. Though the hurricane had devastating affects on the island, it does not excuse the owner in making sure that guest accommodations are up to code. We were notified that electricians would be making repairs, but only the morning of. This was not at all a worrisome situation, but what we walked into was more than just quick wire fixtures going on.
When we arrived, the hostel appeared to be vacant. There were two other guests also trying to check-in when we did and were just as confused as us. There was no manger, or receptionist on site—only the electricians. We eventually were given the keys to our rooms after one of the other guests, who spoke Spanish, communicated with the electricians to give us the keys.
Upon entering our room we noticed that the beds were made and fresh towels left out for us. However, further inspection revealed that the room was unclean. Dust, multiple hanging cobwebs (the kind that come from neglectful cleaning practices), and the ac unit (which we were grateful for) was covered in dust which then blew all over the beds/room. The mattresses are old and have rotting holes in them. We’re in a remote location so we just brushed it off. Left our bags and went out for the day.
Once back in the evening, the building’s poor condition was much more apparent. We had to search for the bathroom as it was not clearly marked. The bathroom door is a piece of ply wood with an exposed lock and the facet did not fully function. Not only that, but the toilet was covered in small roaches. I understand that critters can get in, but the magnitude seen needed to be addressed.
When I called to speak to Gina about some of concerns we had, I was met with deflection and a defensive attitude. The way in which she spoke on the phone, and then continued to text us, was incredibly egregious. Before I was able to fully explain the situation, she completely cut me off and went on a tangent complaining about people from the mainland and their complaints. She assumed that I was complaining about not having hot water. That was not the issue. The issue was that the facet when turned on had no water coming out of it. This island is hot, I don’t need hot water…I just need water. When referencing the AC units, Gina attempted to suggest that these units are brand new and worth $2000. That is simply a lie. Ours was a single Toshiba window unit ranging from between $50-$150, and was definitely used. The conversation felt very juvenile and inappropriate for a customer service exchange. I grew more and more uncomfortable with the conversation as Gina asked where I was from and then made assumptions and added insults to me and my friend. Gina’s comments were completely unprofessional and out of context. I ended the call as I was not going to continue this type of conversation.
This hostel claims to have 24 hour security. They do not even have an on-site manager (the electricians on site do not count). The next morning I cut my ankle on the gate while closing it. This caused an open cut and I needed a first aid kit. Since there was no building management on site, we were unable to find a first aid kit. Luckily this hostel is within close walking distance to stores. This poses a huge safety and liability issue.
Overall, this hostel is poorly managed, poorly maintained, and overpriced. I highly recommend that you read this review, and others like it, to make an educated decision that this hostel is not worth staying at.

Stayed for one day prior to leaving on a cruise. We had a great stay! Staff was very friendly and nice. Staff would shuttle us around to great beaches and over to Esperanza for our Bio Bay Tour.  Very close to Ferry.  Great common area, private rooms with shared bathroom, perfect no issues! Favorite restaurant in Esperanza is Bananas. Had a great time in Vieques!

The only upside to this hostel is that it’s a 10 min walk from the ferry 

My friend and I arrived on a Saturday and left Tuesday. We were greeted by the host (I forgot his name, short bald guy), and he apologized that the electricity was off. I was ok with that initially. Then he started talking about how he can help us navigate the city. 

We come back at night and he’s packed a bag saying he’s going to Miami. He didn’t mention that he was leaving and he was talking to us when we first arrived like he was staying at the hostel the duration of our stay. He claimed that we would be able to get our money back for the time the energy was out, but he couldn’t give us the money back right then because he already deposited it. Didn’t try to give us any vouchers or phone numbers because his phone was dead. Just up and left Vieques, it was weird. He also kept repeating himself. It was my first time staying at a hostel and I didn’t enjoy it. 


Terrible

Stayed here with a bunch of friends a few weeks back- the guys that run the hostel are awesome and were super accommodating- they let us check out a little later, because of awkward timings with our transport, and were really friendly. Nice place, clean and good rooftop bar. Thanks a lot!!

From the close proximity to the ferry/airport, to the newly renovated common area, close to so many fabulous places to eat, so many beaches to enjoy, Good Vibe House was always fun to come back to after a long day of exploring😊👍👍

I just stood at the Good vibe Hostel and it was great good service the M.G.R. is right upstairs realy nice gentleman always attentive and to our needs place is right in town and is ealy clean i was inpress and i highly recomended defenetly will come back thank you so mych for our great stay LILLIAN

Great

Clean rooms.  Safe for me and my 13 year old daughter.   The staff was welcoming and very helpful.  We would definitely stay again.

The staff offered to tours and we went to the black sand beach.  We thought we would get just a ride but Ginny was so helpful and wonderful to point out many interesting items.  
Thank you!  We will see you again sometime!
