We spent 3 days in room Sable which overlooked the church, the bells of which were fantastic, we moved then for nine days to room Galet which overlooked the sea and the church. Both rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The bathrooms were a good size too. We enjoyed our breakfast each morning looking out over the bay, Our hosts Jean Michel and Francoise were charming any oh so very helpful, the decor was eclectic and tasteful the house magnificent and in the centre of Roscoff.

What a lovely find. A beautiful characterful building in a perfect spot opposite the lovely church - the Notre Dame de Croaz Batz. The host was very sweet and friendly. Our spacious room had a very comfortable large bed and beautiful views over the church and over the sea too. Great breakfasts were enjoyed by us and when we come back the only place we will want to stay is here. 

We found this B&B in the Figaro magazine earlier in the year and decided to include a stay here during a recent tour of Brittany!  The house is magnificent and situated right in the centre of Roscoff and so very handy for all the amenities and restaurants.  Parking might have been a problem but we were able to reserve a space close by with prior arrangement with the owners.  The room (Le Galet) was spacious with a nice modern bathroom and a double aspect view over the sea and towards the church.  We had only thought we would be able to see the sea!  The housekeeper was charming and very efficient and did a great job keeping everything in order, making delicious breakfasts for the hosts and dealing very professionally with a problem with a barking dog!  She was also very knowledgeable about the area around Roscoff and gave us some good tips!
Our only regret was that we didn't meet up with the owners as they were away travelling!  It's always part of the pleasure of staying at at B&B to get to know the people who actually live in the house!  Maybe another time?

The venue represents itself as a B and B. It is well positioned relative the the centre and port,although not uniquely so. It is in a row of terraces which includes several hotels. Most points of interest and a number of restaurants are easily accessible on foot and parking is available a couple of hundred metres away, although time limits apply during the lengthy high season. The suite we booked was spacious and comprised a seperate toilet and a decent sized bathroom.There was no internal handle on the toilet door and the bathroom sink was of a type which did not contain a plug so it was not possible to use it to wash out small items of clothing. Other than the provision of an adequate, but very limited breakfast, no other services were offered, eg laundry or bar.  A plus was the provision of a Krups Nespresso machine in the room although pods were not replaced for the last two of our 4 night stay.
With regard to the breakfast, which was not available before 8.30, the highlight was the small bowl of fresh fruit salad prepared each morning by the owners. Unfortunately freshness did not extend to the orange juice or the fruit bread and croissants in the bread basket. Both were dry and the croissants in particular were either defrosted or had been purchased the day before. As I said, adequate but I expect there were better options elsewhere.  The room was kept clean. However, the biggest and most irritating negative was the noise. I am not talking about the church bells, the seagulls or the ocean. The problem was the female owner. She occupied the room across the narrow hallway from our accomodation. The walls and door were not effective barriers to internal sound yet she insisted on having loud conversations in her room or in the corridor every morning before we got up. It is hard to describe how completely oblivious she appeared to be to the fact that people were actually staying in the premises. On occasions it was made worse by her conduct of loud conversations with someone on another floor. It was quite irritating and I could almost accept that it was deliberate. I should add that it was also very noisy if someone occupied a room above where we were staying because the floors are timber, as are the ceilings. They are features of the old house but nevertheless they do result in considerable noise. For those reasons alone I could not recommend the property to anyone who was not a heavy sleeper or who was not up before the owner commenced her morning conversations. Probably to our detriment I felt uncomfortable about complaining in circumstances in which we were in such close proximity to the owner. An incident arose on our last day which tended to confirm that the course we had taken was correct. We had, I believed, booked for four nights, not five. A deposit of more than 230 euros had been sent about 6 months before via a credit card debit, the details of which were provided to the owner in an email. In addition the reservation was made with Booking. Com which had been provided with all necessary personal details. After packing up and getting our bags downstairs I told the male owner that I needed to finalise the bill. My wife was about to leave to get our vehicle when the female owner came downstairs and said " you are not due to leave until tomorrow". That was news to me but while trying to confirm the situation via my iPad she got quite agitated and said that we had to pay, in a manner that suggested she suspected some intention on our part to do otherwise. She repeated this even after I confirmed that I had made an error, ( this was the 12th booking on the trip ) and agreed that rather than stay another night I preferred pay for the extra and leave. Even that was not sufficient and she added in the same agitated state that the mistake was mine, not hers, and we had to pay. The bill was paid and we left with a rather unpleasant sense that her bizarre reaction was both uncalled for and quite insulting. Our poor choice of accomodation was made considerably worse by a totally uncalled for response to a simple mistake and all over 155 euros. I note that the premises are for sale so new owners may by more considerate in dealings with guests.
