Turquoise Bay Dive & Beach Resort

Extremely rustic diver's hotel.   We had a great time, the staff were exceptional with their personal touches, after a day or two we had been introduced to the majority of them and were on a first name basis.   The only issue was there were no chairs in the room, and we would have liked that.   Also, the bugs, the tropical insects are incessant and voracious.   I would have appreciated some help and a little forewarning about ensuring the no-see-ums and sand fleas didn't make a feast of me.

Beautiful resort and delicious food. Our cabin was spacious and bed was comfortable. Highly recommend!!! We will be back😊 Their drinks were wonderful in the evening as as their breakfast options, simple but gratifying 

Great Memories 

Las Rocas was a good place to stay in Roatan.  Central to West Bay and West End ( easy walk to West Bay, water taxi to west end ).

Rooms are clean , organized , a good bathroom with hot shower ( no t.v.).  Mini fridge is stocked with pepsi, 7up , water and local drinks and beer at a reasonable price.  A convenience store is located within walking distance on West Bay Beach - decent prices.  

Staff was fantastic from the restaurant , dive shop and reception.  Friendly with great service.  Housekeeping did a great job, with plenty of towels.  Reception would arrange any taxi's or excursions you would want.  I would recommend the sloths and the shark dive.

Restaurant had amazing food, and drinks.   They liked to pour the rum omg , get a monkey la la lol.  They do need a better coffee maker, not hot.  

Food at any restaurant from west end to west bay was the best i have had.  I would recommend Sandy Bunz and Gingers and Sundowners Bar in West End.  BanannaRama for Pizza ( omg ) and drinks also Beachers in West Bay.  Its true what is said about not going all inclusive in Roatan, the food is amazing.

The Dive Operation.
A Big shout out to Arron and "G" ( Katarina).  They made the dives memorable with there knowledge of the reefs, island and overall environment.  The dives were relaxing, and safe with something to see on every dive.  The dive shop was one of the better ones i have used in my 300 plus dives.  Captain Otto, lets not forget the boat captain.  Skilled , Knowledgeable and a keen fisherman, if anyone is going to Las Rocas please take some fishing lures for jigging to Otto.

Prices at dive shop were better than what i found in west end.  I would give the dive shop 5 stars and i would use them again.  The shop had rinse tanks and racks to hang the gear, was taken inside and locked up for security at the end of the day.  Any personal items were secured in the office while i was out diving.  I highly recommend the dive shop.

I recommend staying at Las Rocas Resort and Dive Center.


Scuba and Monkey La La's

Las Roca's was a fantastic place to stay in Roatan! It is centrally located between West Bay and West End really close to the best beaches on the island. The staff was super friendly and the service was great. The rooms are budget and could use some updating, but we didn't spend much time in the room. Housekeeping did  great job too. We felt very safe at all times. There is a security guard on property 24hrs a day.

The restaurant on property makes the BEST Pina Colada's on the beach! Believe me, we tried them all! The fish tacos are amazing too! Only grip might be better coffee..
I think the coffee maker was on the fritz.  Shout out to Sherel, Winston, and Devon at the bar! Staff at the front desk and dive staff too!  You can walk to west bay beach from the property and try all the restaurants and bars there too. We liked Bananrama, Babalus, and Grand Roatan at the end of the beach. Book a tour through Clifford in front of Bananarama. Get a water taxi to west end and have some fun at the Booty Barrrr and do some good shopping! Make sure to hold a sloth at Mayan jungle I fell in love with Alex!
You can dive or snorkel with the dive shop on property. We snorkeled near black rock off of West bay beach, blue channel, turtle crossing and it was stunning!

Snorkeling and Pina Colada's!

The hotel is very rustic but charming.  Rooms are very basic but they are all I needed.  The dive shop is basic.  The equipment is older but functional.  The best part is it's right on the beach.  Great location on the end of west bay beach and minutes from west end by water taxi.

Basic but comfortable and good location

Pictures on booking and informations not matching with reality. Dirty small room, all the time smells by disinfection, no running hot water, bed very small and almost damaged, disgustingly dirty glasses, everything glued, damaged window and  insect screen, food not well prepared and later we received big stomach and intestinal problems. Place for eating horribly dirty. Staff very slow and unprofessional. Very bad wifi connection. We had to immediately leave this place. More than that any refundation offered! It was our worst experience ever. Owner should close this place.

Terrible experience

We came to Roatan for a month in January of 2023. We dove with the  dive shop here ran by Mirta. My wife took her open water course.  
We had such a great time. Their dive masters Paco, Erin, and Geraldine were all awesome.  So friendly and helpful and just so easy to get along with.  We couldn’t have asked for more. 
We had such a great vacation here and we will definitely be back.

Los rocas dive center , we will miss you.

Quiet, serene, great staff.   We enjoyed a thoroughly wonderful holiday here.  The food was amazing and the staff exceptional.   Rooms are basic, but clean   Sorting at the restaurant enjoying the 2 for 1 happy hour and watching the world go by was my favourite afternoon activity

Las Rocas was the best spot in West Bay, I will absolutely stay again!  We were a group of 3 generations, my husband and I, my mother and 8 year old daughter. Everyone loved the relaxing vibes of the resort and the small beach as well as the close proximity to the long beach (2min walk).  The snorkeling was awesome!  My husband did the dive refresher and my daughter did the Bubblemaker with the dive shop. The rooms met all our needs; firm mattresses, clean bedding, hot water and AC. Bring water bottles to fill up at the "water oasis". Housekeeping everyday was a lovely feature. The restaurant had the best food in West Bay, we especially enjoyed the seafood dishes. Breakfast was included and we enjoyed the hot plate every day. 2 for 1 happy hour every day :) All of the employees were kind and helpful. Airport transfer to and from was appreciated. Tips: you will need small bills for tipping (please look up recommendations for tipping, most people on the island work 6 days a week) bring beach towels, reef safe sun block, and hydrocortisone for bug bites, and bug spray of course.  I wouldn't stay anywhere else on Roatan, this is the spot!

Incredible Family Vacation

I have been to Roatan 3 times now and have stayed at Las Rocas every time. It is a small, low key, easy breezy resort. They are nestled around the corner away from the hustle and bustle of West Bay beach but within a few minutes walk if you want to go there. West End is a short boat taxi or road taxi ride for shopping and more restaurants. Pasquale, Sasha and her front office staff are spectacular, they want you to be comfortable and make sure you have what you need. The resort itself has a restaurant/bar which is very good. The staff is attentive, friendly, and accommodating. Winston, Elio, Devon, the hostess, and kitchen crew treat customers like family. The food/drink is wonderful and affordable. The rooms are not fancy 5 star accomodations but they are clean and have everything one needs such as a bed, toilet, sink, shower, closet, mini-fridge, air conditioner, and best of all... A hammock! I have been in every type of room they offer and all are fine. The upper units have higher ceilings and therefore are a bit brighter than lower units. Some rooms have tvs but I don't know who needs one in Roatan. We dove all day and played all night. The dive staff are spectacular Mirta, Otto, Paco, Geraldine, Aaron, Gary, and others go out of their way to make divers comfortable and happy. The resort does not have an Olympic sized lap pool, but it is large enough to hang out and cool down in (think the opposite of a hot tub). There are some beach chairs scattered about but I find I don't have time to even use them, too busy in the water having fun. If you need super fancy keep looking. If you need comfy, fun, and clean book- Las Rocas Resort and Dive Center and maybe you will run into me. I can't wait to go back (already booked my room).
