We stayed here overnight and what a great night it was. Music and drinks on the beautifully decorated platform, dinner in the dining car which was delicious, then off to bed in caboose #8 which was super comfortable with all the amenities. As a train nerd I was ridiculously excited at the prospect of staying here and it didn’t disappoint in any way.

Adorable and unique experience for all ages! Sleeping arrangements within caboose #4 looked like a homey cottage, exactly as it looked online. Master bedroom was surprisingly large and had AC. Kids enjoyed the bunks. Everything was clean and the staff friendly. We ate in the dining car and it was delicious, inc dessert. We were lucky enough to be visiting during raspberry season and I had their famous raspberry pie. It’s unique for having whole fresh raspberries mixed into a cooked gel, and there is no top to the pie. It was very good. Portions are reasonable. Train station itself is a cafe/gift store and the platform is a social gathering place.I enjoyed coffee on the platform in the morning, and nabbed a train magnet for my fridge. Town itself is cute. We walked the trans Canada trail, and browsed the
Main Street. Only drawback was lack of breakfast options, but that may have been bc of the bakery’s vacation week.

The only place to stay in Tatamagouche.  We enjoyed our train car, comfortable sleeping area, lounge, bathroom and kitchenette.  Dinner at the Train Station Restaurant was good.  We enjoyed walking (or biking) on the Trans-Canada Trail, that goes through the property.  Tatamagouche Brewing has good beers on tap. Breakfasts at the Chowder House were excellent, a busy place with lots of locals.

we had a very unique stay, dependent on which car you want to spend the night in, you have privacy and your own porch area. we also recommend reserve booking into the meal car for a fantastic meal, we were looking enough to enjoy a local musical talent the evening we stayed.

Lovley, unique place to stay.  We stayed in Caboose #9.  The property was adorable with plenty of parking.  Our caboose had so much room and was well decorated and comfortable.  What a ball to stay in a real caboose, would suggest that everyone do it at lease once.  Wish we would have had more time in the area.  There were trails that connected to the property and though our trip was brief we did enjoy the area.

An absolutely charming and unique accommodation.  We were here for an overnight girl getaway.  Dinner in the dining car was delicious and plentiful, and the staff were extremely friendly and fast.  Our accommodation (caboose #6) was clean and homey and utterly delightful.  We couldn't have been happier.  I slept on the futon which was very comfortable, and she slept well in the bedroom area.  It is very quiet at night.  We love to walk, and the rail trail is (naturally) right beside the inn.  It is in excellent shape and scenic, with lots of access routes up to the main street.  The shop at the inn is super cute, but a short walk down the trail brings you to the Saturday morning market.   Things to consider:  ATVs use the trail, so be safe; it IS a train, so of necessity things are compact (like washrooms).  Otherwise I think it is just a delightful getaway for any age...I think children would be thrilled to bits.

beautiful location.  An actual railway station.  Lovely setup.  Food and beverages available for a cost.  Entertainment available some evenings weather permitting.  We stayed in boxcar Jane.  Very spacious.

Evening meal was in the dining car.  Reservations made a couple months before.  Excellent!

This was by far the most unique, coolest hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms all have their own special touch, there's the fun of eating in the dining car, and a converted lounge, as well as a coffee shop, souvenir store, and bar at the station,  and an outdoor play area for young children. It was fun to explore and relax at. The town doesn't have a whole lot for a young family, but situated alongside the hotel is the TransCanada trail which makes for peaceful exploration  of the area.

Great meal with our family!   The meal was prepared and served by a local family!   Chef was excellent and service outstanding!   Unique dining experience and we would definitely consider staying at the inn!

My husband and I stayed in caboose number 5 on September 29 the. Our room was perfect and decorated with period items but had all modern conveniences. The washroom was spotless and had wonderful thick towels. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed eating our snacks in the cupola. A walking trail right beside the track was a great place to wander in the evening and the morning. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a sweet little gift shop on site. Would recommend as a must go to in Nova Scotia.
