My stay at this hostel in Jaisalmer was absolutely wonderful! The host family was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. They went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience, even organizing an incredible desert trip that I’ll never forget. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and everything about my stay exceeded expectations. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Jaisalmer!

We cannot recommend this place enough! Vivian and his family are amazing hosts that treats their guests with warmth and kindness. The home kitchen has good food, it takes some time to get the food but all worth the wait. The big balcony makes for a great social area with tables and sofas but works just as well if you’re working online or busy with your own thing. In the evening we sat around a bonfire on the balcony, it was so lovely. We decided to go with the hostels desert safari and it was the best decision ever, we ended up staying in the desert for several days with the amazing people there. 
Sandy, Tiger, Deepu, Dev, Björn, Bera & co. thank you so much for these days, showing us the desert life! They all come from the villages in the desert outside of Jaisalmer and know all there is to know about camels, cook fresh food, and makes the safari an unforgettable experience. 
Hope to come back to Jaisalmer and open road hostel soon! If you are visiting Jaisalmer, I highly recommend staying at Open Road Hostel and doing the desert safari.

Open Road Hostel, Jaisalmer. This place gave me one of the most memorable stays of my life. From the reasonable prices to the warm hospitality, delicious food, and the beautiful ambiance—it all felt perfect. Their camel safari and night desert camping were something else entirely, an experience I’ll carry with me forever. Huge thanks to Vivian Chettan and Aparna Chechi for making it so special; I’m truly grateful for the unforgettable night they gifted me.

Me being a lazy solo traveller by nature, writing a review means a lot to me. 
Open Road stay has its reason for it. The property has a very interesting architecture, a raw and beautiful way of air circulation outlets , golden walls and stairs and some amazing pics clicked by Vivian as well :) And the best part is the open and common space in the third and fourth floors ! I literally lived there. Best fresh food served on table with view, books, Maya ( a fluff ! ) and some breeze ! My days were made. From a 2 day stay to a 3 week stay speaks for it .The smiling faces which served me were also adding to comfort in stay.
Jaisalmer is such a small and a pretty city with all good things in walkable distance ( I hate spending on small transits , such a blessing for me! )  During travel, we tend to just stay away from home/known things , but here I got the best essence of a fresh new  home with unknown things around you . Lots of new stories, learnings, silence and some good recipes from chef as well ! I cannot ask more from my Jaisalmer stay. Thank you so much to Vivian and co. Highly recommended !

Everything was great in this place, from the rooms, to the food, my room was big and clean, Polu the owner is also a natural born artist, full of energy and devoted to his clients, he led our safari tour, it was fabulous, he entertained us all nite, singing, playing drums, and making sure that each need was fulfilled!The hotel is only a 10 min walk from the fort on a slow walk ;-) highly recommend this place!

This is a nice budget hotel near to Jaisalmer fort, it is located at 10 minutes walk from the fort. Checkin process is smooth. Room was big and cosy, the bathroom was clean. We tried the hotel rooftop restaurant once and the food was fine. The owner was very nice and helpful, we discussed our itinerary with him and he was kind enough to suggest us good plan as per the weather. Also, he suggested us very good shops for souvenirs. All in all, it was a wonderful stay.

We have been at Polu place last year with my husband and we had such a great time that we went back last week and this time we had the most surprisingly trip ever... the hotel was all renovated with tastefully decoration everywhere, new rooms with A/C,  new attached bathrooms that one can only call a very stylish and comfortable room. We  stayed on the 1st floor room with view to the street and sunset... and we love it. The staff also was new but nevertheless very efficient and keen to assist us in everything we have asked them. Delicious food is served in the Rooftop restaurant, there I had my best Paratha ever in this trip.

Now called HosteLaVie this hotel/hostel has a relaxing feel & nice clean rooms. Good food is available in the rooftop restaurant; you just have to go with the flow of what's available in the season. 
There is a washing machine for guests to use as they need & a few makeshift lines to hang your wash on the roof. Daytime drying is quick all year round, thanks to the warmth of the desert location. 
The location is easy walking distance to the fort and there are plenty of interesting streets, shops, restaurants nearby for exploring. The local sandstone is crafted and carved into beautiful facades, or details on nearly all of the buildings; HosteLaVie being a lovely example itself.

excellent and budget one

Worst experience ever for dining,  this restaurant is famous for delay services in Jaisalmer, but still we preordered our food at 7 30 pm and we reached by 0800 pm. We waited till 10pm still we were not served any food, we came back empty stomach and went to other restaurant for dinner. If any one wants to go there, then order food a day before and then go, all the best for those who want to take there chances .
