Just back from 3 weeks at the Ship again
This year for a change we had one of the apartments over from the Ship but vey close to the Superb Donut Box
Car rental arranged by Haseeb faultless as usual
Ship always good as staff make the venue and the hotel and area always very clean
Have stayed in all areas of the Ship over the years and all good
Traffic to town gets worse so leave the car and jump on the bus which frequently stops outside the Ship.
Going west in car Lots to see and numerous eateries towards Lapta
Nice beaches in that area as well.
Took a break from Ercan this year and came via South on Jet 2
Once again all travel arrangements sorted via Nilay
Value for money oh yes and lovely staff to go with it

Another visit to the lovely Ship Hotel

Well I've just had another amazing holiday at my happy place.  The Ship inn hotel.. I've been coming to this hotel for 14 years bar a couple due to Covid.
As soon as I get out the taxi I feel like I'm home. I stayed in the 2 bed villa room 201 my fave. I've stayed in garden rooms and the hotel rooms plus the back hotel rooms and all are great.
The pool and the gardens are the hotels main feature where I spend my days.  Unless exploring the local beaches and market plus the town. The harbour opens back up real soon due to major Refurb.
The daytime menu by the pool has a lovely choice as does the evening menu in the restaurant.
Drinks are great as are the cocktails and milkshakes coffees etc.
Next door to the Ship is The Box a restaurant come coffee shop selling fab food and fab donuts.. you must give it a try. My friend owns this restaurant and we dined a few times.  Try the bagels the best I've ever had all homemade.
Dolmus into Girne opp side of road. Lapta the same side. 35 lira pp.  taxis available from reception or car hire also available. Reception will also help to book restaurants order cabs etc.
Nima in town.. kervan for sunset 
Escape beach. Ask anyone at the ship an you will find info as everyone is friendly.
Waiters are very friendly.. 
enjoy and I can't wait to return Sept 24.. also bbq night is great round the pool with a disco if it's on it's a fab night x we are a big family x go enjoy yourselves...

My happy place x

I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. It was fantastic. The hotel is located very near to Kyrenia, but far away enough to be peaceful. The facilities are excellent. Rooms are spacious, with great sea and mountain views. The staff were extremely helpful. Everyone went out of their way to help. The reception provided me exceptional help during the gap between check out and my flight. I highly recommend this hotel.

A great place,when I arrived,I did not like the location of the room,but the man was very accomadating.and gave us a room over looking the pool which was very nice.
Clean rooms and a nice size.
The pool area was clean,but don't agree with people putting their towels on beds at 11pm at night.then not using them till later.
The restaurant food wasn't great,and I would say,they definitely need another member of staff in the bar area on an evening.
The location is a bit out of the way,but cheap to get a taxi,and the buses are regular,so not an issue.

On entering reception we were expecting to be greeted with a smile and a welcome.......none of that, what's your name please was all we got. After the formalities were done we were given our apartment number and was told it's over there turn right onto main road and then 1st right, well 1st right is a donut bar so we took the 1st road right, yep wrong place it was the donut bar carpark we were to turn into....could have said that at the begining.  On finding and entering the apartment we were surprised as I had asked for ground floor, it was ground floor but had a mezzanine floor for the bedroom, my husband has difficulty climbing stairs but he managed!!!  The room looked fab on entering but was really quite dirty, the bin in the bathroom and the toilet roll holder were disgusting and have not been cleaned in a long time, there were things in the bedside drawer from a previous occupant, the toilet brush was disgusting and stank, there was and still is empty bottles from the previous occupant/s in one of the kitchen cupboards as well as a bottle of water in the freezer compartment of the fridge the kettle still had water in and was splattered with grease on the outside. The coffee table had biscuit crumbs on. I could go on but you get the idea. The only thing that looked clean was the bed, yes I did check it and it was ok. I cleaned up enough for us to be able to stay there. Extremely disappointed and angry. The pool was great and the breakfast was not good at all. Powdered juice, instant coffee........ As a retired hotel manager I can't even say this was akin to a hostel as all the hostels I have seen have been very clean. I certainly do not recommend this place at all. 

Terrible. 

We stayed at the ship inn, on a half board basis we payed £70 a day on Booking.com for a weeks stay, we wanted to extend our stay by 3 weeks and the reception manager wanted to charge us £80 a day for half board,for the three weeks extra...we went to our room and my partner managed to get the extra 3 weeks at £18 a day on half board,on Last minute. Com, i thought Booking.com was cheap, but not anymore.

Not a good experience 

Stayed seven nights while on a hiking tour in Northern Cyprus. Quiet location about 2-km from the city center. The hotel has its own restaurant, otherwise it's an approx 1-km walk in either direction to the nearest restaurants or grocery stores.
My room was in a building on the other side of the pool, located one floor above ground. No elevator. Old fashioned room and decor, but everything worked. Comfortable bed and pillows. Tiny desk area with an ottoman and an armchair (both too low for the desk). Amenities included electric kettle with coffee and tea, refrigerator (minibar) and a safe which was too small for a laptop. Sufficient number of power outlets.
The TV didn't work, but I didn't report it since I wasn't planning to watch it.
Decent size bathroom, with poor ventilation. Shower with good water pressure. The towels were generally ok, although I got a couple of ripped ones.
Excellent wifi.
Breakfast with reasonable selection. Friendly helpful staff.

Comfortable and quiet

We felt like a member of the family at this hotel. The room was old fashioned in a nice comforting way. The hotel was old fashioned in a nice comforting way as well. The staff were amazing. The hotel is but a stroll away from town, but if you don’t want to walk, the Dolmus with its beep beeping will take you there.
We went to Kyrenia in April 2022. They were just opening for the season. They had been shut down for two years without any help from their government as far as we were told. We were welcomed everywhere we went. 
The prices of food and drink were very good as we were getting 20 Turkish lira to one pound. 
The food at the hotel was ok. Nice salads and deserts, but hot food was not hot.
We went out to eat and found the bars in Kyrenia were very good, especially The George. We will definitely  return!

Old fashioned gentleness

Fantastic stay, clean bedroom amazing shower. Staff so so nice, breakfast good choice and hot they will even cook omelette for you, evening meal choice suits everybody.
Booked for New Years Eve and I am sure it will be amazing.

Fantastic stay at the Ship Inn

We have just returned from a three night stay at The Ship Inn hotel and was a little disappointed.

Room was small but adequate for our short stay. Towel changing and the rooms  tea and coffee supplies was a little lacking. Kettle was hit and miss with the plug and socket not always making connection to work.  Safe didn't work. There were no booklets or information packs for guests Getting a sunbed to relax on was almost impossible as beds were often booked by towel placement from 6am each morning ..and often remained unused for best part off the day .. we oice noted 24 beds unused all day but had guests own towels placed on them to keep them for their return .. they had gone on day trips or were out for the day.
Pool bar was a nightmare at night as many people were ordering cocktails which takes a long of time to prepare  and with only one person behind the bar meant a wait of almost 30 mins to get a drink... Not the nar man's fault at allhe needed help to satisfy the customers

On the up side
The food was very good and hot at lunch and dinner but the breakfast buffet was usually cold or just slightly warm.....
Staff were extremely helpful, chatty  and friendly
The special three night stay offer is good value but these things need to be resolved.

We are unlikely to return which is a shame as the pool was the attraction and we were looking forward to a relaxing time round it but was denied that experience by selfish guests...
