Location and entryway.
Tired. Paper cups. Thin Kleenex. Changed / downhill since we stayed in 20-2. Will stay somewhere else next time.
Old style hotel but very comfortable
Lifts very slow and in pick time stairs was the only option only on the 3rd floor so not too bad, Porters etc were not helpful even after tipping,
Very central location, the resort fee charges which are demanded in most hotels now in NYC are a rip off for what you get. Hotel is dated but very clean and for the amount of time you spend in the rooms on a city break its what you need. Beds extremely comfortable! Great pizzeria round the corner you can take back to your room (uncle pauls pizza). Ignore the bad reviews this hotel is all you need for a shower, comfy bed in a city like NYC.
We loved the location.
The hair dryer in our room was broken. In addition, when we asked for a new comforter because we spilled some water on it, the new one brought to us was different and had yellow stains all over it. We were overall a little disappointed with our experience for the price we paid.
Old and noisy air condition. Ugly view on rear window. Very dark light. No shower gel.
It was a great location, right on everything.
It was a bit old-dated, but really clean and tidy.
The rooms were extremely old and their cool roof top patio lounge was closed.
Near to time square Manhattan and all accessible place
The location cannot be beat. Steps from Grand Central, blocks from Time Square. And although a bit shabby, the history of the hotel shines through - and the rooms are more spacious than newer NYC hotels.
There seems to be a chronic delay at check-in. We had to wait about a half-hour for the clerk to get to us.
Super Standard room for the money. I should’ve stayed in a cheaper hotel.
Small and old room (we took the standard). Bathroom was crumbling. In the 2019 you have to pay for internet (unacceptable!). 200€/night is too much for what they give (no good cleaning in the room).
The check-in line at 4 p.m. was unbelievably long. I could not tell if there were not enough people at the desk. I left and returned later.
Very close to Grand Central which made getting around the city convenient.
It's New York so it's naturally very expensive.
The location was perfect.
The lobby was stunning, and the rest of the hotel was old, worn out, and needed serious repair work. Other hotels of the same price point have MUCH nicer facilities.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Great Location. Can't wait to come back.
Poor customer service. They need to learn how to smile, eye contact when talking to the customers. Place is Outdated.
The old time feeling.
The service, the unfriendly feeling from the staff and the 40.00 dollar fee added to my billing for a health club and internet connection I didn’t use and didn’t have a option of not paying.
Beautiful historic hotel in the heart of Manhattan. Perfect spot. Perfect room. Great service.
The noise from the adjoining room was awful. We complained and security came. The people did not stop. It was not a good night sleep.
