Great place for a drink, friendly locals, great atmosphere.
The owner is a great entertainer, friendly and helpful. You can have a drink in your corner or join the locals who are great fun. 
Have only seen the pub, not sure how the rooms are.

Well I stumbled across this pub and what a pleasure it was the manager made me fell most welcome and the locals chatted away it was a good mix of locals and a few tourists had a few drinks and listened to the music on the jukebox some heavy rock then followed by some 60s classics don’t worry about what others have written it is a nice pub with nice locals who make you feel welcome 

visted  this place  a few times now  since  moving to area   always  felt welcomed  !  staff been friendly   local very helpful  and weekend muisc  / bands are great   well worth a look   !   and  there a juke box  yo play your own tunes   ! pools tables  as well so somthing for everyone   !  management and staff  great  look forward gor my next vist  !

I've been coming here for a long time now and have always loved this pub, the landlord and landlady are lovely and a laugh as well as the staff there,there is literally someone to always mingle with and talk to being such a diverse group of people, so many people flock here because no matter who you are or where you're from you're always made welcome either by sharing conversation or playing a game of pool. If you're looking for entertainment on weekends(including live bands) great people, good booze, cheap prices and welcoming atmosphere then this is the place to be!

It was the best time I ever had the service is excellent and its now been my local since I came here I love being in the atmosphere in the queens it’s better then any over pub around St Austell it’s always a laugh and good customers and nice locals

Friendly and fun

Queens head

Popped in for a few drinks with a friend in the evening. There was a DJ playing good music. Very friendly atmosphere, great staff and cheap booze. On the downside the decor could do with some fresh paint (it’s tired and dated) and a good clean. Don’t even think of going in if you’re in a wheelchair as you won’t be able to use the toilets as they’re down a flight of stone steps. Now the main problem, the woman’s toilets are awful. None of the toilet seats stay in place when used, they slide in all directions. The locks are long broken and replaced with gate catches (yes you read that right) and could open easily. Something brown was splashed up the wall and they definitely need a good clean and paint. So in conclusion, good for drinks and music but not for emptying your bladder.

This pub should be shut down and condemned.
I’m no proode, I can sit and have a laugh with the boys and hold my own but to walk into a pub in the middle of the day to be stared at as if I had 3 eyes and webbed feet and then hear a potty mouthed 60 plus woman talking about her rampant rabbit and KitKat is just damn right disgusting.
The management really need to get a grip and sort out there local drinkers.
Such a shame as St Austell is struggling for nice pubs, if the clientele was addressed and a good luck of paint and a good bleach everywhere I’m sure it would be a wonderful place right in the center.

S**T Hole

Visited with 2 friends whilst staying nearby. Tatty place with a number of odd patrons. Extremely loud music and no service for a good ten minutes. Bouncers on the door at 6pm. We were only collecting fish and chips so didn't look further a field but would definitely not go back. One to avoid.
