I took my wife down for a meal as a date night and we were treated to amazing and friendly service, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The Starter we had was beautifully cooked and the House Special Burger was amazing. With the service and quality we received I would have expected the bill to be higher but the value for money was incredible too. My wife and I will be returning soon.

We had the pork for two , fantastic meal loverly  cider and lots of ales

We've not been to The Peterborough Arms before, despite living about 10 miles away, but we shall certainly return!
We both chose from the £10 Lunch Menu; one Salmon and one Peri Peri Chicken, followed by a Cheesecake and Bread n Butter Pud.
Truly excellent quality and value.
My beer was from The Flying Monk Brewery and was very tasty 😋

First time visiting this pub. There were about 20 of us from my local group for our  annual meal.  We had pre ordered our preferences before Christmas so the staff knew beforehand. I had the salmon with new potatoes. Very flavoursome.  The vegetables were served in separate dishes. I always love that the plates are hot. Well done staff. Followed by Christmas pudding, chocolate cake or ice cream. All of us were served in good time.  A lot of organising and work for 20 people.  Mince pies and teas and coffee were served after dessert. Many thanks to all the staff. 

My wife and I booked for lunch this last Sunday (21st Sept 2022). We had pre-booked their hog roast for mains, which is served for two.  Succulent meat with the best ever crackling.  Roast potatoes, four veggies, not over-cooked and soggy, and beautiful gravy. We asked for extra gravy, it was so good. To round off we both plumbed for bread and butter pudding served with piping hot gravy. A very traditional English meal with congenial service. We will be returning soon.

We stayed here overnight in our motorhome. Large level car park with a grass area to sit out on on a warm evening if we wished. The premises looked to be well looked after and the menu was large and varied, with a doggy friendly area. My beef burger with beetroot and goats cheese and sweet potato chips was excellent and one of the best I have tasted. My wife’s Cajun salmon was, I am informed, just as delicious and prices were reasonable. Service was brisk and pleasant.

I feel for this proprietor trying to run a business as effectively the premises are now not easily reached if you are a stranger from the Lyneham, Chippenham direction as othe B4069 road on which the premises are situated was subject to a land slip in February and has been closed ever since(over six months) and it must be desperately affecting his business particularly from passing trade. Come on Wiltshire County Council - do something before another great pub goes to the wall due to your lack of action!

A friendly warm welcome on arrival from the man serving all evening.  Quick service once we ordered.  Fresh, hot food which was delicious.  Nice to see that the road closure wasn't making too much difference as it was a mid week visit and tables were booked.  We'll worth a visit. We will most certainly be going again and soon.

Having had an exceptionally good lunch today, it was sad to see it so quiet on a Saturday lunchtime.This is undoubtedly due to the road closure, but, if coming from Chippenham, ignore the road closed sign and you will get to the pub with no problem, and hopefully enjoy a meal as good as ours. A friendly warm welcome too, with a bright, clean interior and, always a test of cleanliness for me, spotlessly clean loos! We will definitely be back, and hope the pub can survive the trials of the road closure.

We came in here as a group of 4 for an evening meal this Saturday. The place had plenty of custom, but was not packed to the rafters, which was nice for a Saturday evening. Our first thought was of how lovely the environment was. It is such a quirky old school pub, with classic dishes to follow up this theme. But that’s also where it gets interesting, with sudden clashes of character in its menu, with a lot of the dishes having a “similar but different” feel to them. 
For example, the Dhal lentil curry. Now Some may feel like curry and rice is very standard for a pub, but this curry was not. It’s not often you find a curry that’s not a korma in a British pub, so I had to order when I saw it as an option. Incredible, I’ll say no more.
Cheese board to follow, and just like the option of on and off tap beers and ciders, had a lovely freshness and feel of locality to them. 
The staff were also fantastic. The manager was very helpful, especially with the menu, and waitresses were prompt and efficient. 
I was truly impressed tonight, and have struggled to think of any gripes with my night. I left thinking about when I will next come back for our next meal. 
I’ll be honest guys, do yourselves a favour and come to the Peterborough arms. A proper place with proper grub. 5/5

Brilliant Meal.

A great find!

On impulse we went to The Peterborough Arms for lunch to be greeted by Brendan.  We were the first to arrive for lunch and wondered if the local road condition was impacting their trade.  As we ordered a steady flow of people arrived.  

Plenty of car parking space.  The place is clean and well presented. Drinks at the bar were quickly provided and we chatted to Brendan.

We ordered from both the Lunch menu and the main menu.  Wife had peri peri chicken, I ordered a Beef Madras curry.  Both proved to be good.  My wife was happy with the chicken, I was delighted with my curry; best I have enjoyed in quite a while.

Service from Brendan and a lady who appeared from the kitchen was prompt and cheerful.  

We ordered deserts; Ice cream and Bread and Butter pudding.  Both were good.

The lengthy problem with diversions because of essential road works, that is still required, has not stopped people getting to this good Pub.   Now that we have rediscovered The Peterborough Arms after a lengthy absence we will return soon.

Excellent lunch

We've been there quite a bit in the last few months and have decided that it's better for lunch than dinner. Sadly, the Sunday roast was a little disappointing - the vegetables were fresh and plentiful but the meat, although plentiful had clearly been reheated and suffered as a result. A shame really because everything else was good - service, value for money, atmosphere etc
