The Perrin Inn

Despite the rough reviews, my family and I decided to go in for a meal.

I absolutely adored the Perrin Inn, the food was excellent, tasty, well-cooked, good portion and good price. 

It's not fine dining, but you shouldn't expect it to be; it's an Inn. They had the fire lighting, it was cold outside, our bellies were full, and we were cosy. I'll absolutely be back for more!! 

The staff were superb also!

a gang of us stopped here after a hike in the cahas.. Lauren was fab.. served us all our various orders of hot beverages.. accompanied by choc bickies.. which were much appreciated by all.. but most of all - she did all of it with a smile and great demeanour.. The Perrin Inn - ye are lucky to have Lauren - treat her well.. see you again soon

Beautiful rural traditional village. Warm Irish welcome. Wide range of home cooked old style food and excellent pint of Guinness. Local ceili on the tv in the evening. Scenic lake pool for a dip across the street and top quality artisan craft souvenir shops. Off the beaten track sleepy haven.

Food is beautifull and the staff are great couldnt do more to make sure we enjoyed our meal which were very well cooked and tasty

We can't vouch for the food or accommodation as we only stopped in for a coffee, a pot of tea and to sit and watch the world go by for a while. Staff were friendly and coffee was hot.

i am glad I didnt read the reviews before stopping for a late lunch at the Perrin Inn, we probably would have given it a miss.  But we were well pleased with our choice, the food was good, plenty of it, decent price,  we sat outside with the dogs and the waitress came out with a bowl of water for them without being asked. All in all it was very nice.  will definitely go again.

Stopped here for a bite to eat last Saturday 16/2/19. The place was a bit on the scruffy side and could do with an update. However, the fire was lighting and the welcome was warm. We got two toasted sandwiches with chips and salad and they hit the spot. Together with a pint and a can of orange, we paid 20€ for the pleasure. This place in not Michelin starred but its mighty fine for a quick bite. Very Irish and enjoyable.

Perrin inn

My kid and I had fish and chips (16€ each) and my husband had lamb chops with gravy (20€). The fish and chips was over-fried to an extent that the bottom was soggy from its own oil. The fish was over cooked and chewy. Chips weren’t bad. The lamb was chewy and the gravy did not taste as if it was made from the lamb juice, but just general gravy. The lamb came with a few over cooked vegetables. The potato mash wasn’t bad but on the salty side. The staff did not come to ask if everything was ok even once, although the restaurant was almost empty. They did not ask if we enjoyed our food even when we paid. We did not get a dessert as we were put off the whole experience . The staff at least were polite, when we paid.

Not recommended.

We ate lunch here today and it was terrible…scampi and chips for €15 and I couldn’t finish either…my partner order a chicken burger off the specials for €12 and he couldn’t eat it…like something from a chipper van after the nightclub. We were disappointed as it was a family day out and the location would suggest they would offer better food. There were food vans across the way, I wish we had gone to one of those. 

Lunch was awful

The worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. Had tried several hotels in the town but these were booked and one of them suggested the Perrin Inn.
Price was 100 euros for B&B.
We were allocated a room in a chalet.
Room was bleak. Carpet stained. One double bed and one single bed with the thinnest duvets ever. 2 mismatched towels. One smelt. No plug in sink. Was absolutely freezing. Bed was beside draughty window.
Water was warm .  2 small bars of soap only provided. Breakfast ok if you like everything deep fried.
This place is not fit to offer accommodation. Should be closed down
 


Worst accommodation I have ever stayed in

I ordered the soup of the day which tasted like flavored water. 
I asked the waiter what the soup of the day was and he told me it was leak & potato. but when he served it to me, it looked like a bowl of orange sludge type liquid with the odd piece of carrot in it.

My partner ordered the fresh hake with chips,
The chips tasted like wet paper and the Hake was very disappointingly small for the price of 12 euro

Very disappointing.                                     Gordon Ramsay Would cry from dispare if he came here
