We got stuck in Ambon when our plans to visit Banda fell apart. We had not arranged accomodation before we arrived and the first hotel we visited was unbearable, as was the second and the third. Ambon has a serious lack of decent, reasonably priced places to stay. Thankfully, we found Orchid Hotel. Centrally located, clean, spacious, good free wifi, aircon, and a large comfortable bed. It was also the first place we had seen that didn't smell like an ashtray. Staff are helpful. The price is similar to other places around, and includes a good breakfast. If I get stuck in Ambon again I won't stay anywhere else.
