The Lodge at Red River Ranch

We visited The Lodge at Red River Ranch while visiting Capitol Reef National Park.  The facilities are beautiful - just like you would envision a lodge to be.  The host was very friendly and gave us information for other places we might want to see in the area.  The living area was comfortable and she built a large fire in the fireplace, which we enjoyed that evening.  The room was comfortable and it was quiet, even though there were others staying there with us.  As we drove into the property, they have buffalo in the pasture in front of the lodge, which we enjoyed watching.  

Although we left early and did not eat breakfast there, they did have a full, cooked to order menu for breakfast items.

Probably my favorite lodge of all time. Beautiful unique rooms, friendly, great food. They make breakfast and dinner on occasion.

Near to an outstanding national park in Capitol Reef.

I went first with my wife, then returned the next year with the extended family.

This is the nicest, cosiest place I've ever staid. Like being in a Western film. The decor was amazing, rooms beautifully comfy, I slept so well. The grounds and surroundings were peaceful and picturesque. Nice people staying there too, very friendly.

You will feel right at home in this beautiful lodge. It has 11 well furnished rooms and an amazing sitting room downstairs that is decorated with antiques, fine art, and local artifacts.  Bison, raised by the family that runs the in braise just outside inn.  The daughter of the man that built the inn still runs it keeping his dream alive.  Great getaway for couples or groups of friends. Friendliest place I have stayed in a long time!

We have stayed here several times - always perfect.  If you like vintage cozy but elegant, this is your place.  Every room is unique. The food is lovely. The outdoor space is red rock picturesque. Near Torrey, Utah, gateway to Capital Reef and starting point of the VERY scenic Highway 12 through Boulder to Escalante.

An extra special place. Family-owned and run by extra special people.  They have thought of everything you might need or want.  The rooms are lovely, beds are comfortable, breakfast is great.  But it is the hospitality that makes it so special.  And the surroundings, of course, are magical and extra-terrestrial.

A wonderful ranch style lodging in a stunning setting with red cliffs nearby.  The breakfast was good (it costs extra) and the rooms were large and unique.  Run by the family that owns the lodge - good service.  Beautiful western style two story main room with large fireplace and Remington cowboy statues.  

Every 5 or 6 years we are back and it's still the same magic, this time our room was Anazazy. You have the spa under the stars watching the red rocks. Very very nice staff and owners. They have a soap with a smell to kill for it, I bought some of them to make me remember this night in Torrey. It's so close to Capitol reef that it makes the perfect spot to be. It's difficult to give this spot to people as I don't want it to be full next time for us ! 

We just returned from spending the weekend here with our kids and grandkids.  We had a lovely time.  They don't have TVs.  Instead they have a really big gathering room set up for kids to play board games and adults to just spend some time together.  It was lovely.  Our kids, teenagers and babies loved every minute of being unplugged.  They are in a beautiful location minutes from Capital Reef.  They have a large herd of buffalo in the front yard.  Every room is decorated different.  The breakfast was great.  We had a great time being together.  I highly recommend it if you want to reconnect with kids and grandkids from 4-45.  This is not a generic hotel.  This place makes you feel like you have traveled 100 years back in time with all of the modern advantages.


The Red River Ranch Lodge was an amazing retreat during our 10 day tour of the Southwest.  It was a great location for touring Capitol Reef.  Charlene warmly greeted us after a full day of touring Bryce Canyon and then driving just over two hours to the Ranch.  It was late in the afternoon and she helped us find a restaurant for dinner and even called ahead and made a reservation.  The beds were comfy, the lodge was quiet, peaceful and beautiful.  The interior was decorated with southwestern decor and the restaurant offered a delicious breakfast.  You will be happy if you select this property for your time in the Capitol Reef area.

Authentic and well maintained bed & breakfast lodge near Capital Reef Park Region.    Friendly and helpful staff.  Comfortable room with an excellent King Sized bed. Authentic Range & Lodge

Family owned and operated, this small lodge was such a high point on a two week trip through the Four Corners region.  Coming west from Torrey, the first turnoff to the lodge can be hard to find but fortunately there are two entrances.  Look for the herd of Bison roaming the pasture.  That was a fun bonus for all of us.  Charlene is very accommodating, providing cold storage and ice from the kitchen.  The great room is well laid out.  Rooms are nice, the first floor rooms a bit small but still nicely done.  The morning breakfasts are great and cooked to order (additional charge, not included in room rate). The front patio was a great place to sit in the afternoon and enjoy a glass of wine (byob) and revisit the day.  We (two couples) spent three nights and were sorry to leave the pleasant surroundings. It was just a great place to start our Four Corners adventure.
