relaxed but a bit missing on the atmosphere, i think that’s the “norm” here though - you head to the beach places
for the semi tropic feel.  food excellent for SL.      amazing coconut water - cold and fresh.   i don’t think they use rice vinegar for sushi rice - but then i dont know who does here.  otherwise excellent sushi for SL.  over all great food experience for SL.

i’d go again

We were in town to visit our daughter, a chemistry and science teacher at the local QEHS (Queen Elizabeth High School). Suffice to say, we'll be back. Excellent service, great location, comfy beds, good food! Enough said!

Another successful trip to Siera Leone .I chose to stay at the Hub because of the continued standards of this hotel.
The rooms are well serviced and maintained the staff are friendly and always willing to help the food is excellent especially the sushi (recommend “Little Tokyo “) and the beer and wine selection is good.It has a pool and a secure location at Mamba point.If I can I will stay here again I highly recommend The Hub .

Good secure excellent rooms and superb food

I made several trips to Freetown during the COVID pandemic and stayed in the Hub Hotel each time. By Freetown standards, it’s a solid bet. Rooms are clean, spacious and all en suite. WiFi is as reliable as you are going to get in Sierra Leone (ie not very!) and TV service not great but there is a pool and poolside bar and reassuring covid protocols. Breakfast is modest, but good by the standards of the region, and the sushi is very good indeed. The restaurant also does a takeout service. Weekends can be noisy but to be honest there’s nowhere in Freetown that’s quiet then! Credit cards are accepted but you have to give a days notice if you intend to check out and pay by card.

A solid bet in Freetown

What a great place to stay! The rooms are very quiet and everything is where it should be.  Plenty of outlets and free wifi you never need to struggle with. Instant hot water.  No power blackouts. No mosquitoes in the room.  Yes, there's a blow dryer. Yes, there's coffee in the room with a pod brewer or Nescafe.  A new liter of bottled water daily is delivered daily and maid service is immaculate.  Hotel staff make an effort to greet you and make small talk.  They make the effort to know you name.  They can tell you  flight departure times, and how to get to local attractions immediately, and how much to pay.  Delayed checkout is granted--no muss, no fuss, and no additional fee.  The restaurant has interior and terrace dining (looking over the ocean!) and the menu is both interesting and of good quality--at a reasonable price! The free breakfast, while not extravagant,  is tasty, varied, and all that you need. Great omelettes are made to order.    I travel regularly for work--not always in the most affluent countries,..this hotel stands out. It's a real gem at a very reasonable price.

I stay at this property from 4th to 11th November, 2019. The hotel staff were very friendly, respectful. The entire compound is cleaned every day. Very busy in the evenings with lots of high profile businessmen and politicians having meetings. It’s really a hub for business. 
The food was very good too at the restaurant, the lounge, the bar.
I enjoyed my stay there. Will certainly go back there and I recommend it to anyone going for a business trip in Freetown. 
There were also leisure moments too. Very clean swimming pool and a very nice view of Freetown from the hotel poolside. 
It’s a must see.

They were so rude that I lost my apitite and they ignored us the whole time they even waited 30 mins to serve us literally. All they were doing was stare and give you a bad look. I advice u not to come hear

Rude staff

Mediocre for price.
Stayed a few nights as needed good wifi, hot showers and a quiet place to work from. I am a single, female traveller. All the above requirements ticked though the wifi was erratic some evenings. The daily supply of bottled water is a welcome touch. 

As is the kettle,tea bag and coffee sachets. I found waiting and reception staff helpful. 

I first stayed here in Aug 2015 and was looking forward to my stay. I wasn't blown over and below is why: I got room service, twice food was delivered to my room uncovered. Not sure whether food could be billed to my room, I wasn't given the option. 

Given the dishes are expensive, make sure you bring lots of cash. Asked for a menu to be brought to my room but waiter waited for me to make my choice. Apparently, they cant leave menus in bedrooms. For the nightly rate I paid, I expected a welcome folder and menu in my room. My AC remote didn't work, annoying, as I spent 95% of my time working from the room. I asked Reception to change it within mins of entering room. One of the managers came in, showed me how to switch off from mains and said he would send a replacement remote the next day - it didn't happen. Finally, when in the restaurant/bar, if not staying, only the non-African staff have the wifi code, it seems. So they call someone else(duty manager) to come over and insert password into your phone. It looks and feels wrong. There must be other ways of preventing staff from using their mobile devices, if indeed that is the reason for making it feel like a colonial outpost.

Not bad but could do better

Sitting by the pool, with the gentle breeze over your face is so refreshing, we had a great dinner, if you havent tried the fried chicken with their exclusive gravy, please do, i recommend anybody to check them out, Chef Rabby is great, and rest if the staff are so friendly...

Exquisite cuisine

The Hub wouldn't win any prizes for its architecture or aesthetic interest but you can't beat it on many counts:  it is located in a very convenient place 5 minutes from Lumley Beach (depending on Lumley traffic), 10 minutes from the Country Lodge and its the place where people go for a drink, a meeting or a very good meal.  The quality of the build is very good and the rooms extremely comfortable with a real coffee machine.  The beds with their soft linen and very soft pillows give you an excellent sleep; the staff are friendly; the gym is small but adequate with a lovely sea view and fresh breezes; the pool is delicious and convenient to many of the rooms.  The menu is broad and also offers some of the best sushi in town.  The breakfast served upstairs in the lovely room catching morning sun is good and the coffee fresh.  The downside is only 4 rooms have sea views and the others are dark and open blinds will  take away privacy from passing people.  But the poolside area offers very comfortable seating with plenty of plugs and it is evident that lots of people use this as a work place.  The hotel is bare of decor - nothing to give it personality.  A few palms on the pool terrace break the monotony of the tiled area and there are plenty of artificial flowers.  A touch of African art would give it more personality.  I had a long stay and was well looked after so highly recommend it. There's ATM too and easy access to taxis.
