4 adults with 2 kids (4 & 1) for lunch. We were really well looked after, our waitress was really kind to the kids and all of our meals were really nice.
A great place for a relaxed family get-together and would be especially good in fine weather with outdoor seating by the stream.

Excellent family lunch.

Just about close enough to walk to Phase One, but we didn't!  Price was very good, room was basic but sufficient and clean enough.  Cooked breakfast was extra, but very nice, particularly the bread/toast!  You get an external key.  Staff very friendly, we had no real issues and would use it again.

Base to visit Phase One Endurance

Went here for sunday carvery lunch, and found it a mixed bag. Huge choice of really good vegetables but beef was a roll of cheap cuts which was sinewy and bland in flavour. My friends found the gammon and turkey better I think. The sweets were also variable and again I made the wrong choice as the lemon cheescake was tasteless and clearly a cheap outside purchase. Shame, because it is obviously a well loved pub, benefitting from the nearby Hinkley Point development, so bit complacent and arrogant, it seemed to me.. Finally, as I was driving I had a pint of lime and soda. The flavour was awful and again I suspect the ‘lime’ sourced from a rock bottom supplier. It is a mistake as supplying better quality food and drink could easily elevate this place to five star. Staff were OK, but again I suspect paid as little as possible. I m in the trade, so I have learnt these approaches to be short sighted.

Popular pub but disappointing.

Food was absolutely shocking! Came out cold and undercooked. Management was extremely poor. However the girl that served us was friendly. Haven’t been to this pub for at least a year, I’d say they definitely need their old team and owner back. The place looks very glum on the inside and not welcoming at all. What an earth has happened?

What a shame this place has completely gone down hill since the old management. The food is borderline ok and the only good staff are the old ones that I believe have now all left. 
They still Haven’t even put pictures on the walls!!
Also don’t know how they can afford bands most Fridays with the lack of customers and overheard they have been under paying staff!

No breakfast freezing cold no heating just bad timing but  good thing was it was lovely and quiet. It had a comfortable bed perfect for a night of fun to warm up a bit. Probably would stay here again overall.

Need the old owner back  seeing how management talk to there team. Unbelievable place run down doesn't look like the pictures online standard menu not to bad there was a new girl havent seen her in a few weeks but she was treated so badly i was shocked she never done anything wrong and apparently when i spoke to one of the staff she only had been there a short period and the young girl said ahe was amazing

I will never be here again

Not impressed with the quality of the rooms! Paid £85 room only, and the bedroom we stayed in was filthy! Bed sheets hadn’t been changed on the main bed. Bed throws had questionable stains on it. Bedroom bin still had finish in from previous guests. Carpets not hoovered. Bathroom had mold on the walls, on the shower screen, and the shower was stained/dirty. No hand soap. Toilet didn’t flush properly. The WiFi didn’t reach our room, cobwebs and dust bunnies everywhere... absolutely disgusting!
However the towels were clean, and single bed was clean, and when we checked in, the staff were lovely.
