Wow Wow Wow!

We took a private Golden Circle tour with our tour guide Ruth. We were collected on time and given the best treatment and knowledge as we explored all the golden circle had to offer. Ruth went out of her way to ensure we missed the crowds and queues, sharing her candid thoughts and knowledge without being boring or scripted. 

After our full day tour we were taken to our bubble. The bubbles themselves are basic but very comfortable. A large comfortable bed, electric blankets, duvets and woollen throws. We were far from cold. You are paying for the experience of being in the middle of nowhere and sleeping under the stars! The service hut housed hot drink facilities, WiFi (if you needed it), two bathrooms with showers, towels and amenities. Amazing walks around the area in the dark with spectacular views. 

A real experience for those looking for something different.

A very special experience staying here. The facilities were beautifully clean and had everything you needed including towels. The bubble was warm and cosy and we didn’t need to use the extra blanket or heated blanket provided. The bubble felt private from other bubbles and the pathway. Check in was easy and the instructions were sent a few days in advance. Definitely worth packing a small overnight bag rather than taking all your luggage up.

There was a lot of snow when we stayed at the Bubble and it created a very cozy atmosphere. The bubble is prepared for the winter, you will not fell cold. There is a warm heat system and the bed is heat as well.

If you are looking for a unique experience, this is it!  Our one night stay in the bubble could not have been more memorable.  We saw the northern lights for the very first time.  Then it rained, snowed and sleeted and then the skies were incredibly clear.  The beds are THE MOST soft and keep you incredibly warm.  The trek to the bathroom/kitchen was no big deal.  Would however recommend taking your flashlight for safety.  If you are looking to do something special, look no further!

I can not even give this experience a large enough rating! It started with Kevin personally coming in the hotel lobby to get us, he was so funny and professional. We had a fabulous small group of 6. Kevin kept us up to date on timing and the plans step by step. He was very knowledgeable and his personality was so confident and made everyone comfortable. The stops were amazing on the golden circle. Very cold but a warm suv at all times. The dinner spot was delicious. The bubble was INCREDIBLE! We got northern lights right when we arrived! We could see them right from our bed! Warm inside with heated blankets. We got champagne and fruit. The bathrooms were not too much of a hassle to walk to. Never a wait to use. All the timing was punctual but not rushed. We would definitely go again and recommend to everyone we know!

My partner and I stayed in one of the bubbles at the Hrosshagi (Golden Circle) site, but did not take part in the tour.  The location is extremely convenient - 10-15 minutes off the Golden Circle path right near Geysir.  The bubble itself is extremely cute and romantic, and I cannot say I've done anything similar in my life.  However, there are definitely things to note before staying there.  First, there are no in-bubble bathrooms, but rather the shared utilities are a minute walk away.  Second, and this is important during the summer, it is light almost all day.  Luckily, they supplied us with sleep masks to block out the light.  Finally, the bubbles aren't quite as spaced as you would expect.  Occasionally other couples will walk near a bubble going to/from the facilities.  The bubbles are far enough apart that my partner and I did not feel exposed or within easy view, but you should be aware that others can see you if they'd like.

Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would do it again next time in Iceland, but don't expect the flawless, completely private, luxury experience that some travel influencers may portray it to be.

We did the Southern Coast Tour and stay. Our day began with a guide picking us up in a three row SUV that was extremely comfortable. We were fortunate enough to be two of four people in the vehicle all day. 

Our tour guide (whose name I embarrassingly do not know how to spell) was absolutely fantastic, friendly, and personable. He made the day fun. He made it interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed his company and knowledge throughout the day. He made this tour. He went out of his way to make us comfortable and allowed us to have an excellent time. He made this tour feel special and I don’t know if we got to see anything extra or not but it sure felt that way and even if every tour is the exact time, he made us feel extraordinary. He even took us to a local shop to find gifts that you couldn’t find in Downtown Reykjavík. 

The sites were beautiful. The stops were breathtaking. 

We ended our day sharing a great meal with our new friend and tour guide. Another highlight trying new foods and having good conversation. 

We made it to the Buubble shortly before 8pm. The Buubble was fun, comfortable, views were amazing, and it was worth every penny. I couldn’t recommend this tour or guide more. If your traveling to Iceland do not miss out , do yourself a favor and book the Southern Coast tour with this company!

If you are lucky, you also get to see nothern lights, like we did! Totally recommend, but be aware there is no kitchen in the southern location :)

Gus, our tour guide, was amazing. Nicest man. We were the only two on the tour that day, so we were able to see an extra stop. We stopped for breaks and snacks, his choice for dinner was really good food. It rained most of the night in the bubble, but we would come back and stay another night in better weather. But the tour was so worth it! We got gorgeous pictures and he was so knowledgeable about the area.

The bubbles are SO FUN!!  We stayed in the tree bubble and really loved it.  The 2 things we were nervous about - it being too cold and the bathrooms being yucky - we should not have been concerned about at all.  They pipe in warm air (ahhhh) and the bathrooms are very clean and Ikea-like (including the showers).  The tree bubble sways a bit in the breeze, which we loved.  The LED lights inside can change colors and make you feel like you are in a bubble disco!!!!  
The office/bathroom building has a coffee maker.  The place has Wifi.  The bathroom is a very short walk from the tree bubble but quite a long hike from the other bubbles.  
I totally recommend staying here.  I would like to go back in winter so we can see stars and maybe the Northern Lights!

Great experience

A Memorable Experience!

5 Million Star Plus+

We booked our stay in advance, not really knowing what to expect.  Other than... this would not be a standard hotel stay we were used to.

We knew it was going to be in an inflatable bubble, but that was about it.

Firstly, we got lost on the way there because our directions were not very clear from our guide, and there are multiple possible places you can wind up at.  So be careful.  And by the time we reached there, it was close to 10pm.  Hence, it was completely pitch dark.

Our guide helped us walk through over the phone, of what to expect while we were driving there, and we also got her on the phone once we arrived, because we couldn't see anything, other than the lights that our phones were able to provide.

Once you get there, you will realize that it is completely dark in a forest.

TIP:  Get there in the daylight.

There is a Showering and toilet cabin where you park.  And then you have to go up a flight of wooden stairs to get to your Bubble.  There are also two toilets at the top of the stairs.  Once you get to the top of the stairs, there are different paths to get to each individual bubble (5 Bubbles total).  We were at the Olvisholt location.  

The bubbles are in relative close proximity to one another, but still far away that you can get some privacy.  And the bubbles have been situated in between tall trees, which give you added privacy.

Having said that, it can be a little scary, because there are no people or lights anywhere in sight, and the other bubbles are hard to see in the night also, so it feels like you are all alone in the middle of nowhere.

Once you get to your bubble, it is a very straightforward sleeping area with a small light in your sleep space, which has 1 bed.  Nothing else.  The bathrooms are away from the bubble (as I explained previously).

We then proceeded to sleep.  The bed is nice and comfortable, and it can get slightly chilly, but I was told (after), there is an electric blanket underneath the bed.  Doh!

Once waking up, we proceeded down the wooden steps to use the bathroom/brush/shower/change.  We met some other couples who had also stayed the night, and they were getting ready to leave.  Once again, there are a few shared Co-ed showers, and a couple of toilets.  There is some coffee you can make, but no restaurants or cafe's.  You have to bring all your own amenities.  They do provide towels and shampoo.

Overall, it was a very unique experience for my wife and I, to stay in an inflated bubble in a forest.  I would recommend this to anyone who wants to sleep a little differently for 1 night.  If however, you like your standard hotel amenities, then this stay would not be for you.

Unique Stay in the Bubble Hotel

Fantastic Experience, But Prep Accordingly

This is an amazing experience for the right audience. If it was just my wife and I, I think it would have been an amazing stay. With two children ( 5 and 2) , it was a bit rough.

First off, avoid the tree bubble. There where no way from keeping the gnats meaning it was impossible to be comfortable. 

After 2 hours of that we requested to be moved to a Normal bubble which they were able to do.

That was much better, much more spacious; space for your things and most of all, no bugs.

Keep in mind, we came in July so it’s 24 hours of daylight. No problem if you are an adult capable of wearing an eye mask, a bit tougher for young children. Again, not hotels issue, just a word of caution for other parents.

Beautiful …. But

Amazing Tour, Amazing Guide, Amazing Stay

The Bubble is a truly unique experience.  Granted ours would have been better had it not rained from the time we got there until the time we left.  No sky view for us :-(   However, sleeping out in the Icelandic woods was beautiful and unique all by itself.  My only complaint was that the bath house is really way too small when everyone basically has to shower, dress and get out at the same time.  Also be forewarned there are a lot of steps, so take just the bag you need for the night and store any other luggage.  We concluded the Bubble is worth do, but not really for more than one night - just hope for clear weather.

A Must Do, Once

We made the most of our last full day in Iceland, doing a volcano tour and Blue Lagoon visit with our awesome guide Asta before settling in to our amazingly serene bubble in the woods. It's hard to describe just how neat it is snuggling into a warm bed under the stars. Bubble runs a good operation, from the pickup in nice Chevy Suburbans to the guided tours, group dinner and well-appointed bathrooms and bubbles. 

There were a few hiccups and I'm disappointed Bubble hasn't responded to my feedback. Major issues we ran into:
  - I bought a wine and cheese platter but we didn't even get to the bubbles until 8:30 pm and having hiked in the wind all day we were burnt out. Would have been nice for bubble to let us know how late we'd get to the campsite. 
- they told us there were towels in our bubble but there weren't, and unfortunately another guest who went to the shower area before us couldn't find towels either, so we took his word that there weren't any. Turns out they were under the coffee machine. They should be in a more obvious place. 
- the wifi didn't work at the bubbles. It's fine, we just wanted to sleep. 
- there are no lights on the stairs up to the bubbles - and there are quite a few stairs, so don't bring all your luggage up there. 
- you have to be packed up and ready to leave by 8:30am, so we felt a bit rushed and unable to explore. 

All in all, it's a great experience. I'm just bummed they don't seem too keen on constructive feedback.
