Tenda Tora has excellent service, good communication regarding location, tips and what to do in Bilene

The unit was clean (cleaned daily), had all accesories for self catering stay and braai too. The air conditioner in the rooms was excellent due to heat & mosquito nets in every room too.

The private splash pool was the best as it gets very hot in Bilene even in the morning, perfect for kids to play & cool off. In the evening, its beautiful views over the lagoon & sunset while you braai!

Wonderful service from Joseph, Julius & Las Vegas who even helped with seafood purchase from market & were always available to lend a hand.

If you are looking for peaceful, private escape from the city with beautiful morning & sunset views, walking distance to the lagoon beach, market & shops then Tenda Tora is the place!

Friendly staff, great accomodation and food fit for a king, cant wait for my next vacation. Only need to bring self catering food unless you want to live out the restuarant,  and clothes as all the rest id cater3d for in cosy airconditioned cottages

What an amazing place to stay! This was our 4th time to Tenda Tora and Rory and team never dissapoint. They had everything covered,from the time we booked through to arrival, help with routes, border crossings,4x4 tracks, beach permits and recommendations for places to eat, nothing was too much to ask from team at Tenda Tora. Special thanks to Vegas the go to guy who cooked us the best prawn and seafood braai as well as organising anything else we asked for. Accomodation is super comfortable, with everything you need as a home from home. The aircon is a welcome escape from the heat at night and the splash pools perfect to cool off in on hot days. Perfect location to watch a sunset over the lagoon, a few mins walk into the local town and market and an easy walk or short drive to any of the resorts along the lagoon beach to spend the day with the kids. We loved taking the 4x4's for an adventure across the dunes to the ocean too, well worth paying for a beach permit for the day to get there. Thanks again Rory and team, we'll be back next year.

We went there as a family and really had a lovely time. Rory was very helpful and gave us some traveling tips. The staff was also very friendly and very helpful in particular James, Castigo, Julius, Las Vegas and George. The rooms were serviced daily and though our air con gave us problems, it was attended to to make our stay comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place especially if you have kids.

Fun in Paradise

Firstly, before booking the place I checked whether they had wifi and a restaurant on site. Too my surprise, when we got to the Lodge we learnt that the wifi is only available at the reception area and not in the rooms. It was an inconvenience for me as I had to leave the house and go to the reception to make calls. On top of that the data would run out and the Manager would tell us the owner only sent him 1G, and insinuated that we were misusing the data.

Secondly, the website shows a lovely restaurant, which is nonexistent.

The staff members were helpful and responded timeously.

We also realized that the Lodge was very far from the beach, it was a very lengthly walk to get to the beach. 

But I would never stay at this Lodge again as WiFi is one of the important things I look for when searching for places to stay in. 

No wifi in the rooms 

We have booked this place for our annual holiday. On the website it shows a beautiful restaurant on site and we thought that would be a great added benefit. Great was our surprise to find out that the restaurant was closed. Since we don't have a 4X4 vehicle the only way to get to the beach was by boat which was rather expensive to do every day. The staff were very friendly and the place was clean

A bit overpriced

The accommodation was very nice with air-con and splash pool but the pool was cold. 

What bothered us was the distance from a the ocean beach as they referred to it and also the distance to the lagoon beach. 

If you want to see the ocean you need to have 4 x 4 to drive 30min drive around the lagoon. Then you need to pay a R1000 permit to drive on the beach. 

So yes 4 x 4 is not required to get to Tenda Tora but if you want to travel around the lagoon then it is required.

Nice Accommodation but

For some this might work, for me …. nada, nothing - too clinical - too white --- too small --- too far from the beach --- never met the owner --- only the help who, sure enough was helpful enough, but where is the personal touch? The pool, great idea, but in the shade most of the time and bitterly cold. The aircon is right on the bed - freezing and you can't change the setting. No counter space to prepare food. The units for more than 1/2 people so much better. 

Too clinical

DILAPIDATED & IN RUINS.
DO NOT BOOK! Owner took thousands of rands from us and claimed power problems one day before ‘check-in’. Family went anyway to find that the place has fallen apart - aircons, geysers & stoves stolen out of units. Roof fallen in on same areas. No power, no water.
