Tandayapa Bird Lodge

We visited Ecuador for birding and photography and spent a week at Tandayapa Bird Lodge in April 2024. The Lodge is beautiful and we felt welcomed and at home the minute we arrived and met the staff. The rooms were sparkling clean and our laundry was done promptly and upon request. The food was delicious and the staff always greeted us with smiles and everyone went out of their way to be sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Our bird guide and driver – Alex and Antonio – were the best! Alex was always patient and worked hard to help us see as many birds as possible. He told us about the people and the culture in the area, as well as much information about the birds, animals and their habitats. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide! Antonio navigated the roads safely and comfortably and kept us smiling! We speak very little Spanish but it didn’t matter – we enjoyed his company! Because of Tandayapa Bird Lodge, Alex and Antonio, our trip was everything we had hoped for and more!
