I stayed here for 2 nights during my visit to Tallinn as a solo backpacker. They were accommodating for my late check-in, with the owner ensuring all went smoothly. The accommodation is excellent value for money. The rooms are warm, the bathrooms clean and the common room and kitchen are full of character, capturing the character of the old building their occupy. The free breakfast is great and the hostel will provide you with a range of ideas for things to do during your stay. Can't recommend this hostel more highly, will definitely be returning when I'm next in Tallinn.

Amazing hostel!

1. Location: The location is in the heart of old town near the main town square. It’s quiet and easy to access. Even though in a pedestrian area the cabs can go up to the hostel. The train station & tram/bus stops are very close by. The main bus station is 10mins by cab approx €4.5-5. There are multiple restaurants close by and the art district is also walking distance. The tourist office is 5mins away. 
2. Property Facilities: Check-in desk is manned till late. All doors are locked post evening & can be opened only with the keys provided so pretty safe. The reception is on 2nd floor (Grnd+2) with no lift. The common dining room has a small kitchen area with microwave, coffee machine, toaster & cooking stove. Laundry is available in-house for €3 per load. WiFi was good. Shoes have to be kept outside the reception in the common shoe rack. 
3. Food: The breakfast was basic with bread, cheese, cold cut, jam, cereal & freshly made coffee/tea in the kitchen area from 8-10am.
4. Room: The girls dorm (4 beds) was small with 2 bunk beds and a sofa. Lockers were provided but they were big enough to fit a small 20L backpack/laptop bag. Had to keep my backpack below the bed. Towels offered at reception-not sure if paid (I used my own). Bed was comfortable. Comforter provided was ok for the summer weather. Bed was comfortable enough. Plug points available near both beds and reading lamps for each bed.
5. Bathroom: The bathrooms was inside the room shared for 4 ppl so not bad. There are no toiletries just hand-wash & toilet paper. A small mirror above the sink
6. Staff: staff was very friendly & helpful. Good place to interact with other travellers too. 
Overall very good value for money.

Great location, good value for money 

As an Australian retiree I highly recommend this hostel. A couple of steep winding stairways but they carry your suitcase up for you if you buzz them from below. My private room was above that clock. The old city wall as viewed from the dining area.

Excellent location, character and v helpful friendly reception 

I have a lovely stay would would definitely come back! Clean, comfortable, cosy and homely hostel with some of the nicest staff I've ever encountered. Amazingly convenient location in the old town, a spacious and comfortable room, clean hot showers and a filling tasty breakfast.

Lovely, cosy and convenient

We stayed in the 8 bed mixed dorm for 2 nights and it was a wonderful experience. Neither of us had stayed in a true hostel for a while and this reminded us of all the good things about it! The two guys at reception were bother very nice and very helpful with tips of things to do. The beds were clean and comfy. Breakfast was basic and just what we wanted. The kitchen is small but totally serviceable. The kitchen table is the prime hangout space. We met lots of great people. As described, it isn’t a party hostel and this is clear in the type of lovely people attracted to it. Staying in the Old Town is totally worth it.

Definitely Stay Here!

The Travelers House was very clean, welcoming, in an excellent location, and had great staff. I stayed in the single room and felt so comfortable and at home. The free breakfast and clean kitchen were very welcome as well! If I return to Tallinn I will defiantly be returning here. Thank you Tabinoya!

Better than a hotel!

I doesn't have a huge expirience with hostels, but I like this one. I stay in single room, not big but enough for one person. Hostel located in heart of Old Town, close to bars, restaraunts, sightseeing. Breakfast is simple, but enough for good start of the day: cereals, tea/coffee, cheese, bread so on. Clean, Quiet and friendly. In the beginning of October it was nnot central heating, but a small heater was provided, and it was warm in the room. Third floor, no lift (re. to whom it may be important). Definitely will stay there again!

Nice and budget place to stay in Old Town

Excellent hostel!!! Very nice staff. They received us more than kindly and explained everything about the city and gave advice.Very clean and tidy spaces. Great breakfast. Totally recommend it and would come back!

Increible hostel

Tabinoya is average at best.

It has a very central location and a free simple breakfast and that's where the good stuff ends. 

Staff are knowledgeable but extremely curt, and noticeably upset at least 2 of the guests during our stay. 

The common room is a table with 5 chairs and a small kitchenette! Haha! There is not enough room to relax and converse with other travellers. There's cosy and there's ridiculous and this is ridiculously hopeful.

The bed I was staying in had broken slats, the springs poked through the mattress and the sheets don't fit the bed. I ended up having to sleep on the floor to get to sleep. It wasn't ideal but it was better than the bed I was expected to sleep in. 

The hostel operates a quiet period between 11pm and 8am which is a fabulous concept only you still won't sleep owing to the chaos that goes on in the street underneath your window each night. You're in the very centre of Tallinn, remember? I am not a light sleeper AND I wear earplugs, so that should give you a good idea as to what to expect in terms of noise levels. 

I feel so disappointed as I have had so very few negative hostel experiences and unfortunately this is right up there with them. Plus the great reviews made me think I was in for a gem of a stay. I guess if you don't sleep much and don't mind the state of your bed then this is an ideal place for you but the truth is, is that it becomes apparent very quickly as to why it's so cheap... 

How has this got such great reviews?!

Tabinoya is still the best hostel to me. It has been 3years since I visited there, Tallinn is lovely city cuz of this hostel. 
It is located in the center of old town and I remember that there are some nice restaurant near here. I met some othere tourist in this hostel and we had great time together:) Super nice staff is there as well. I miss Tallinn and I miss Tabinoya !
