Susan is a wonderful host. The breakfast was fabulous and the bed very comfortable. The house was very clean and well appointed and taken care of. It is a beautiful area and very friendly town. It is very close to Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, if you are coming for an event.

My son and I had relaxing stay at Susan's Sanctuary. She was very welcoming, prepared a delicious breakfast and had lots of advice for our stay in the area. The room was very comfortable - we certainly had all we needed.
Our stay was to be a little longer, but unfortunately, a family emergency called us back home.

Extremely relaxing and hospitable host. I highly recommend Susan's Sanctuary Bed and Breakfast. Wonderful relaxing evening and delicious breakfast.  Was a great getaway for my long-time friend and l.  

Susan hosted a great stay for my wife and I over four days. The house and room were tidy, and the breakfast offerings were the best bar none. The front porch overlooked a well-manicured lawn on a very quiet street. Susan gave us some history of the area and pointed out stores and restaurants in the area. We were never disappointed. This was a first visit for us to this area and we hope that we can visit Susan again next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at  Susan's Sanctuary B&B. The house was clean and comfortable with a great front porch, perfect for a morning coffee or tea. Susan was awesome and made us a delicious gourmet breakfast! I would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended!

I recently had the pleasure of staying with Susan for three nights.  The bed was comfortable, the breakfasts were great, and Susan was very friendly and helpful with anything I needed.  I appreciate that this Bed & Breakfast is pet-friendly.  Recommended.

We fully recommend Susan's B&B! Susan was extremely communicative and personable both leading up to our trip and during it - she texted us about all of the details beforehand and was there to welcome us when we arrived. She was very accommodating and woke up very early each morning to make us delicious, homemade breakfasts before we started our days. Her place was lovely and very clean. We'll definitely be back if we're back in Orono!

Susan was an awesome host. We stayed for two nights and had to great meals. The cats were super friendly and the house was very convenient to where we were headed during the day. Found some good restaurants near by for dinners and lunches. We really enjoyed our time with Susan. -Ben

A Sanctuary in Clarington/Orono ON

A great weekend!

Susan was very accommodating. She first helped us with the local attractions; trails to walk, events to attend and other places to visit. Then she was very mindful with my wife's celiac disease. We had gluten free bread and pancakes. Finally, Susan gave up her own bed, which was super comfy. We would definitely visit her again.
PS We actually planned this trip three years ago, but due to COVID we were not able go. Susan was very kind to keep out deposit.

Very Nice Birthday Getaway

I booked two nights at this B&B, really happy to have found accommodations in July at basically the last minute.  And I'm really happy to have booked there.
First of all, Susan is a great hostess, and really funny, too, (She named her two cats Thelma and Louise).  The homemade breakfasts were absolutely fantastic.  And what about the bedroom?  The bed was just the right firmness; and if the night was hot, you had the fan right at your fingertips.
She even helped me with the travel back to Oshawa for when I needed to check out.
Overall, 100%: an honest 100%.

Fantasmagoric!!!

When a broken down car left us stranded on highway 115 near Orono, a quick google search led us to Susan's Sanctuary B&B. With just enough life left to get us the three kms to Susan's, we arrived to a warm welcome at 11pm and within minutes my little toddler was asleep in our room and I was having a nice conversation with Susan and her other guests.

What a wonderful place to find at the last minute!

A welcome smile and clean, friendly accommodation for a stranded traveller and his toddler!

On google maps for B&B's around Newcastle I found Susan's tidy and cozy 1930's bungalow on Main St. Orono. Her modern renovations to her compact home made me feel welcome and at ease. All her amenities were well prepared and spotlessly clean. Breakfast, healthy continental and suited me on the go. Orono is a step back in time with grand architecture and a 1/2 dozen antique shops.  A few dining places and a striking Town Hall. Hiking is 18 minutes away in the Ganaraska Forests, and skiing at Brimacombe. 1 hour from T.O. Very quiet and restful. Good Value.  Cheers,Jerry
