Sugar Beach Condo Resort

Saint Croix

It's been awhile since I stayed here, it was Sugar Beach then, but the condo was very comfortable and the location is perfect.  It is quiet but close to Cristiansted.  There are two restaurants within a short walk on the beach.  

St. Croix

Had a wonderful time. We were by everything we wanted to do. Wished we could have stayed longer. We was upset we didn’t make it for a longer visit. We had friends that stayed in the same area at the same time. First time I enjoyed myself in a very long time. Thanks for everything. Linda Gary Carol and John .... I diffenetly want to return again before it get cold out with my family. My granddaughter will love all she can see and do. It’s for a couple, friends or families. Loved my get away.

Fun Get Away

We picked this unit for the access to the beach, price and location and it lived up to it all! 

Walk right out onto the beach each morning to drink our coffee and watch the sun come up.

We already knew it was a dated unit, it was clean and well appointed but some little things could have made it better. 

The second bedroom facing the parking lot only had shear curtains which did not keep the parking lot lights out, these lights were on all night long. Plus the sun setting created a great deal of heat and if the curtains had been room darkening it would have helped with the parking lot lights and been energy efficient keeping the heat from the sun out.

The second bedroom bathroom was in desperate need of repairs and updating, plaster falling off the wall and the shower head was pitiful.

It was nice to have a washer/dryer in the unit. Kitchen had everything we needed from pots and pans to crock pot. The coffee maker needs to be replaced, very difficult to get it to brew each morning

The patio was lovely with a nice table we had dinner each night on.

Living room was comfortable with TV and good channels. WIFI was a challenge, pretty weak

All rooms had ceiling fans

Sugar Beach Condo's common area was kept very clean, nice pool area and the beach was very nice. 

While we were there they was a lot of sargassum, over the weekend it was not attended to but on Monday and each day after that 3 guys were out there daily raking it up but Mother Nature had other ideas. The next morning it was back again

Easy walk to Breezes for a nice dinner, we had a rental car so did not walk anywhere else. McDonald's and Subway was a close walk.

While we had a fun time, for the price we paid it was a good experience but next time I might choose a higher end place.

Unit 103

This condo, on every level, was absolutely LOVELY.  The owner is extremely attentive to detail, the condo is nicely decorated, well equipped and has the perfect location.  Beautiful ocean breezes, kite surfers to entertain you while you relax on the beach, warm water, and close proximity to shopping and to Christiansted's Boardwalk.  We could not have been happier with our choice or our stay.  The people of St Croix are warm and friendly.  The local ex-pats welcome your conversation and questions.  We will be back.  And #102 will be our first choice.

Absolutely Lovely

We stayed at Sugar Beach Condo Resort (Unit 115). The owner is fabulous, easy to contact, and responsive. Our unit was well equipped and homey. Literally 4 steps to the sand a hammock on the beach and great swimming in front. We had a small issue at check-in (security not on site) but once that hiccup was solved the stay was amazing. All of the other security/staff were friendly and visible. 
Can not say enough good things about the resort and especially the owner we worked with. 


Stunning

I've been here twice now so I've gotten a good feel.  At the moment it is a challenge to book hotels on St Croix, especially last minute.

The pluses are that it is in a decent location, close to Christianstead, it has good free WIFI and units can be right on the beach.  The beach seemed nice but I did not get a chance to visit.  The front desk is also very responsive to emails.  The units are also condo so they have kitchens in the event you don't want to eat out.

The big minuses are that the units are in quite a bit of need of repair, partially from the hurricane but some of it is longer standing.  Both units had odd AC units, exposed light fixtures and some rusty things.  Generally clean and bug free though.  There is also no restaurant although Breezs is next door at the other condo complex.

One final thing that surprised me the first time, if you arrive after 6 you will be met by security and given your keys and expected to check in the next day.  Security is friendly but doesn't wear a uniform.

Nice Low Key Spot--Units need work

Unfortunately, due to the hurricane in October we could not travel to this resort. A trip which was planned 15 months in advance. With that being said,I have been trying since November to get my $700 deposit back to no avail. I understand due to the circumstances, things maybe delayed a bit, but its going on 4 months now and I've been told everything is up and running. You can't even call since, it says call can't be completed. Even owner of condo couldn't help (or CC co.). How come it doesn't take 4 months to charge your CC????
 Will now leave it to the lawyers.  Be for warned!!!
