What a wonderful experience! David is just an incredibly kind and considerate host, going out of his way in every turn to make sure we're comfortable in our stay. The house is incredible--so charming, so well built, and with such interesting history to boot. Ask David to show you where the original beams are--we were both fans of train and were delighted to see the original pencil stencil. The BnB is located on a hill, very quiet but also close enough to everywhere we want to go. The price is also very affordable. Overall, it was a perfect stay!

It's all been said previously, but Stony Point B&B is everything one could wish for in an American B&B. A welcoming host; comfortable, superbly furnished, spacious bedrooms; a huge gathering room; tasteful artworks; a cozy bar room; a beautiful dining room; absolutely delicious breakfasts.  David charges a fair fee for an exceptional bed and breakfast in  a  beautiful home. Close to Altoona and State College, you'll be fortunate to book a room at Stony Point in old Tyrone.

This B&B is a delight
We stayed for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The history surrounding the Inn is so interesting. Our room was very comfortable. It was a chilly night so David provided us with an additional heat source. The next morning, David mad a wonderful breakfast, sat with us and shared some stories of the area .

We have been coming here for years,we brought some friends for a football weekend at State College. David is a great host, very welcoming and makes us feel at home! Our friends really enjoyed the weekend there, of course we will be back again!  Beautiful property you will not be disappointed!

This was our first time staying at a B&B and it was an amazing experience. Stony Point is seeped in history and no detail spared. My favorite was breakfast; simple, tasty and served with style!  The owner really goes out of his way to insure a great experience.

Stony Point is a gracious and  comfortable historic property on a quiet street. In fact, the address can be a little hard to spot! It is near steep walking trails. Every room is lovely. Ours had an ensuite bath and not all rooms do. Breakfast was hearty. David is a wonderful host!

Hidden on seven acres in the little borough of Tyrone is this historic treasure. I lived in Tyrone for 3 short years and I had to find a place to stay for my high school reunion. What a huge step back in time. Our host, David, was so welcoming, When we arrived, he was weeding the grounds, as well as having created a comfortable home away from home. Our room was beautiful and our breakfast was outstanding! He accommodated our late night out without a hint of annoyance. We have stayed at many B&B’s across the country and this one is a favorite! David accommodated my dairy and gluten allergies with delicious alternatives! A+++

Although I have often wanted to stay at Stony Point, for various reasons, I never have  had the opportunity.  I finally did.  I was not disappointed!!!  A beautiful mansion, it has been furnished with lovely period furniture - obviously with great thought - by the current owner(s).  The mansion has lots of history related to the town.  Our host grew up in this small town and loves to chat about the town and it's history.  He made sure our visit was welcoming, comfortable, and our every need addressed. Breakfast was delicious!  I highly recommend!!!

We spent a night here in January and it was a wonderful stay. Beautiful inside, and the host was super friendly and welcoming. A cozy place to curl up on a winter day! We found it very comfortable and with a pretty view too.

A piece of history in days gone by…

A bed and breakfast gem

I took my daughter and granddaughter to visit my old boarding school near this town. The owner greeted us and showed us all the rooms and told us a bit of the history. The next morning, the breakfast we received was over the top, delicious, and ample quantity.  I would love to stay here again anytime.

Historic Home in Tyrone PA

The bed and breakfast has been a best kept secret which has been tucked away in Tyrone, Pennsylvania. The house itself with its historic tie in to the railroad is interesting and cool. The owner is professional, dedicated and passionate about the love for the property. It's clean and inviting. Our breakfast was amazing and he will meet diet restrictions when stated at time of reservation, which is more than acceptable. We plan to come back again soon and stay another night. 

Best kept secret in Tyrone, Pennsylvania 

We were able to rent 4 rooms in this charming and historic B&B.  Our host David could not have been kinder or more accommodating.  We were in town for a family funeral and found the facilities perfect for our needs.  The rooms were spacious and comfortable.  The hardy breakfasts excellent.  Beverages were provided and use of the kitchen granted for special needs. David remained available but unobtrusive throughout our stay.  Would highly recommend Stony Point.

Couldn't have been better!

This is a welcoming place. The house has an old-time elegance, and is decorated in a way that makes guests feel comfortable. It's both sophisticated and cozy. There's an interesting history to the structure that enriches a stay. The breakfasts were both delicious and filling. The host is helpful and knowledgeable, a person well worth getting to know. When back in the area, my wife and I will stay there again. We feel fortunate to have had a couple nights at Stony Point.

Intriguing House, Gracious Host.

We arrived late after a Penn State game.  David met us with a smile and a lovely welcome.  We went to our room and had a wonderful night sleep. Our room was charming.  A queen size bed, lovely windows, and nice bathroom.  All classically decorated.

We woke to the best smell in the morning.  Bacon!!  Breakfast was fabulous.  Sorry there are no pictures of that.  Too good to wait to eat!  Home fried potatoes, open face egg, ham and cheese muffins, coffee, juice and some cookies to finish! The other guest were lovely and we had a great morning conversation.  

The downtown area of Tyrone was lovely.  Small town America postcard. 
Looking forward to staying again and soon!!
