I had a very pleasant stay with Stamford star Hotel. The staff were really helpful and courteous. Overall, my stay at stamford star hotel was an outstanding experience, and I would gladly return. The combination of excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and prime location makes this hotel a top choice for anyone visiting the area.

Service is excellent.Rooms are cleaned..Hotel Manager and staff are really nice and makes us feel really speacial. Thanks to Staff for the brilliant service they have provided..highly recommandable...

Stamford Star

Location- it's over looking race course and in the prime location of city center.

Staff - Very obliging, responsible and proactive to individual customer needs.

Food - homely food, Cheif Chef asks for personal preferences and even customises to our individual requirements. 

Hospitality- at it's best.

Rooms - well maintained classic style rooms with interiors done to good taste with 24x 7 wifi facilities.

Firstly,the location..just opposite a turf.Great..Its a 5 minute walk to the shopping zone..Very friendly staff and good service..The linen were clean and the rooms were normal in size.Food was excellent.We'd been there during the Christmas Eve and the dinner buffet spread was awesome and so was the taste..Overall, a very satisfying stay,,indeed.

This was my first trip to Sri lanka and it was superb at stamford star welcome was good rooms are ok restaurant was good. food was good rest. staffs are good. mainly Allen was very good because he knows are language so he explain in that he informed us during the breakfast regarding the lunch and he took the order himself give us the service. he is worth for the hotel. overall experience was good not the room.

It was a family trip nice hotel good food very good staff specially in the restaurant the staffs are very helpful. Alen helps us lot, service wise and informations about Nuwara Eliya. Not only for us other people as wel. But rooms are not up to the standered.

Our stay was superb...we reached late for checking and staff made sure we had dinner available beyond the regular hrs...when one was us were not feeling well they ensured by providing all info and helped us....great and courteous staff, very clean rooms and great locarion

The courteous staff and personalized service provided by hotel staff makes me forget all the shortcomings of the hotel. We were vegetarians and hotel staff personalized the menu for us and literally fed us well.

Staff and the Hotel is Excelent

Excellent hotel and great staff

The rooms look quite nice, however space is very limited. I barely had enough space to put my luggage and properly sit to work on stuff. The bathroom is tiny as well and the shower was very poor. At least my room was clean. The view from my hotel room was bad. You can view the dirty walls of the neighbouring houses, that's it. I recommend better to conceal your windows with the curtains, otherwise you won't feel like you are on holidays.

The dining hall is nice. The food was not bad at all, especially the soup, the vegetables and the calamari were good. Also the staff was very friendly. 

Overall I think this hotel is ok if you want to sped less Money and stay just for the night. If you search for a nice looking hotel with good rooms, you will probably find better alternatives, though.

Average hotel without too big flaws

Although ideally located, the Stamford Star loses out on just about everything else. The rooms are cramped as is the single, narrow elevator meant to serve the several floors. The restaurant has no view of the outside and feels just as claustrophobic as the room. Our worst experience was with one Mr. Allen who said he was the restaurant manager. At the breakfast buffet, we helped ourselves as usual and then my wife, after being seated at the table, found herself short of a bowl. She asked Allen if someone could fetch it for her and he disdainfully pointed in the direction, at some distance, where bowls were stacked. All this while, his underlings were milling around doing nothing much. In all our travels, worldwide, this is the first hotel we discovered, where elementary courtesy was given the go by. The Reception desk too was, to put it mildly, indifferent. When we asked the staff if a Tuk Tuk (a three wheeler auto rickshaw) could be summoned or stopped  to take us around town, they advised us to go out and flag down a Tuk Tuk as and when it passed by. The hotel does not have a bar licence and the food tastes flat. All in all, a let down.
