Very good location to stay. Short walking distance of waterfront and about 20 min walk to Longstreet.
There is a supermarket around the corner.

Staff is very friendly and makes sure you will enjoy your stay.

There is free parking in the street.

Good location

the hostel is a few minutes away from the waterfront. A pretty place, quite familiar. The beds where made every day. Showers and restrooms are on the floor and to share with the other guests, but nothing wrong with that.

great location

I booked a night for four people and we got a room with two single beds and a bunk bed. The staff is very friendly and helpful (and a bit chaotic). There's a pool in the garden, perfect to relax (not all day long). The hostel is near the waterfront, we took the car to get there though. In my opinion there are too few bathrooms and toilets but this is something you get used to.

Everything you need

We stayed in the house at the side of the hostel in a room designed for 4 with its own bathroom. We paid the equivalent of £30/night. There was also a second double room in the house with its own bathroom. The two rooms shared a large lounge and kitchen. The rooms themselves were a generous size and you could settle in to this hostel for a while...and if you were a group of 4 or 6 this would obviously be perfect and nicely private from the main hostel. Anna and her staff are amazing...so friendly, helpful and always laughing and brightening your day! Whilst the house we stayed in had a few rough edges which you expect from most hostels it was spotlessly clean. Our sheets were changed 3 times in our 6 night stay and after one particularly hot and humid night we came back after the day out to find a standing fan in our room without ever asking the question! Great service and thoughtfulness. One downside was that the wifi was weak/non-existent in our room and we had to pop over to the main hostel if we wanted decent access to the Internet. And the other small issue was that the shower could have done with a shower curtain...they were obviously aware of the potential issue of water on the floor and did compensate by putting a large towel down to soak it up which was changed every day.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would fully recommend.

Great location, great staff, great time had!

I stayed here by myself in a single room to explore Cape Town the weekend after the conference I was going to for work ended.  When I arrived, Marshall, who checked me in was really helpful - calling up Robben Island to try and get me a ticket and giving me advice on how to get to Table Mountain.  I was given a quad room to myself as because it was winter the hostel was really empty.  The room was very clean with several plugs, bedside lamps and comfy beds.  I was able to borrow a UK>South Africa travel adaptor from the hostel staff. There were no lockers in my room but the hostel does have a safe. The bathrooms were pretty clean and with lots of hot water.  The kitchen was really modern and super clean.  As it was the winter I didn't spend much time sitting outside by the pool, but there's a fabulous terrace and decent pool as well as a nice size common area downstairs.  It's 20 minutes walk to the waterfront, so an ideal location.  There's also a Woolworths (think Wholefoods), several nice restaurants and cafes and a great ice cream place on Main St (which the hostel runs parallel with).  Hostel was gated and area felt fairly safe.  I was recommended this hostel by friends and would definitely recommend it to others - my single room was about £20 a night, so a good deal.  I was also able to leave my bags at the hostel all day while I went out to hike Table Mountain on my final day after checking out.

The only cons:  the free wifi is strong in the common room but sometimes weak in the rooms ( I was on the top floor). The walls are quite thin so you will hear a bit of noise when people come in/leave.   My room was also a bit cold in the evenings but I was given a loads of blankets!
