Somerset Lodge Montagau

In a peaceful neighbourhood, the room had tasteful decor and we enjoyed the art pieces too.
Stayed in Kearsney which has a nice seated area outside which we enjoyed in the evening. 
Had to park outside, but car was completely safe.

Somerset Lodge is highly recommended owner is very friendly and very helpful the accommodation is clean and comfortable with all you need close to shops lots to see and do with wine farms and nice places to go have breakfasts

We stayed in the Bishops room which was a larger than normal size 2 bed unit with aircon and a fridge.

The beds and linen were of a high quality. We all commented on how comfortably we slept.

Set in a tropical garden the venue is the perfect place to unwind with nothing but the sound of birds in the garden. There is a nearby walking trail just up the road.

The hosts were amazing and went out of their for us. Much appreciated.

In terms of quality, service, location  and value for money, you guys get a 5 out of 5 from us.

Well maintained property, set in a tranquil environment close to the nature garden, We were welcomed by our friendly host who ensured that our stay was memorable. The self catering unit exceeded al our expectations.

From the minute of arrival I was impressed. The reception, outside looks and a garden to die for. The room was spotless and well-equipped (flower petals in the toilet was a first!). The David and Michael were very helpful and friendly and were available without being intrusive. (Thanks for the use of the portable braai!).
They can be proud of what they achieved. Value for money and comes very highly recommended.

what can I say - David is a wonderful host.  Very welcoming and accommodating.  I had my young niece with me and immediately he changed our rooms to a bigger more secure room with the only parking on the premises available - not that it is needed as all rooms have security gates.  
We had the beautiful well equipped self-catering flatlet. with everything we needed.  Clean fresh linen and bathroom/shower had beautiful fluffy white towels.  In the heat the splash pool is a welcome addition.  The lodge is close to the shops, petrol station and all restaurants.  Will definitely be back and recommend it to everyone

Wow !!! I have as blown away by this little bit of heaven. Could only stay for one night however will be returning end of the year. 

Did not expect it to be as it was. It's a beautiful tranquil place close to town.

Lovely owners and they have really put attention into detail with the rooms and the beautiful gardens. 

Somerset lodge is the ideal place for those wishing to get away from the bustling city. the rooms are very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Each room has is own character and is very comfortable. David and Michael are ideal hosts and give each guest a very warm welcome.

We stayed at Somerset Lodge for just one night. Our friendly host  made sure that we had everything we needed. It was clean and neat  with a well equipped kitchenette. Beds were comfortable with plenty pillows

We received a friendly welcome from David. Our room was comfortable, clean and well equiped. We had a secure covered parking with our Hilton room. Lovely, quiet garden. The walls and outside areas were professionally painted. A definate must stay.

My wife and I spent 4 nights at Somerset Lodge, in the Kearsney suite, also known as the honeymoon suite.  The suite was very neat, comfortable, and well maintained.  Although the kitchenette was very basic, it was sufficient for our needs as we used the place mainly as a "base camp" to chill and sleep after our daily excursions into Montagu and the surrounding towns.   The lodge is conveniently located in a peaceful part of Montagu but a very short drive away from the heart of Montagu.  David and Michael, the hosts, were very friendly and eager to please.  They helped to make our stay an enjoyable one.
Although it is listed as a 4-sleeper, I would hesitate to have 4 adults as the suite is not large.

Garden petals in our room was lovely welcome.

Although we arrived an hour early, we were still received with friendly chatter about our worldly travels. We had a comfortable and peaceful stay. It would have been even better if breakfast was included. Regardless of this our stay was awesome just way too short. I also loved the table and chairs in the courtyard in front of the room.

Amazing place 

Me and my family stayed for one night only because no other guest house in Montagu wants to book for only one night.  Thanks David Andrew for your friendliness and help.  You made our stay very pleasant.  The rooms are neat and very cosy AND WITH AIRCONS and the splash pool a winner.  A must stay whenever you are in the vicinity.

Nice quiet place

Very good location close to shops and restaurants. Lovely peaceful garden with own table and chairs. Beautiful clean room with a lot of space . Comfortable bed. We stayed in the self-catering apartment and the  kitchenette is well equipped .

Peaceful  and relaxing ! Good value.

Very comfortable room with tea and coffee and fresh milk. Pool is a plunge pool, so don't expect to get any exercise in it.Very friendly and helpful host who recommended some eateries in town. Gorgeous garden.Sadly we couldn't get breakfast due to Covid restrictions.

Convenient stay

Enjoyed our stay at this guest house.  Private, beautiful garden, close to everything in town but not in the busy centre of the town.  Pity we did not have the coffee/tea/sugar complimentary as with other places.  A few limited sachets was there as an after thought.
