Schooners Hotel

Schooners is a great place to stay on St Mary’s. It is well located and the rooms are very clean. Our room was a little small, but was still very nice and we had a great view across the harbour. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was very good quality we had breakfast and evening meal, both were delicious and made with fresh local ingredients. They also have a small bar serving local beer and spirits, the gin is especially good!

This is our third time at Schooners hotel, fantastic sea view room, really comfortable bed and quiet. Breakfast was freshly cooked and superb. We eat in the hotel on two occasions, one meal was great, the other ok. We will stay again because of the location and helpful staff.

Recently stayed at the Schnoors for one week We had two double rooms on the second floor overlooking the beach The views were amazing and changed minute by minute We were on a BB basis however we ate dinner in the hotel twice Both times the meals were hot tasty and very filling All of the staff were very friendly and helpful I would certainly stay here again as the hotel is so convenient for the ferries shopping and getting out and about

This small beachside hotel was much much better than expected. Very friendly, nothing too much trouble, clean and comfortable, food excellent and reasonably priced by comparison to some places on the island. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the location being perfect for getting around, close proximity to boats, shops, beaches etc. would definitely return.

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough for its brilliant location, wonderful views, great food and above all, fantastic staff who go beyond all expectations. I had an accident on hols. and Jon went out of his way to make sure that while I was being cared for he kept in touch, made sure all belongings were returned home safely and with care. I will be returning to these beautiful Isles and fantastic Hotel.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this clean and friendly hotel. Meals are a treat and are to be looked forward to after a day out. The hotel is right on one beach and is only some 300 yards from another.It is so nice to enjoy trips out while forgetting the car. Our sea view bedroom overlooked the quay and the hotel is a very short distance from the boats making regular trips to the off islands. We have been visiting Scilly for nearly 30 years so we have walked and explored everywhere on these unique  islands, packed with wild life history and lovely scenery  . Age is beginning to restrict our walks but we still enjoy our visits. We have already booked for 2024 and 2025 .

Our sea view room (6) was fine for our needs and we loved watching all the comings and goings in the harbour. The staff are delightful and the breakfasts good. We dined in four times and thought the three course dinners with coffee and a chocolate mint to finish were very tasty and good value.

First time stay and had a lovely week here.  Hotel very comfortable and all the staff were great and could not do enough.  Food very good with lots of choices and hotel in a great location a few minutes walk from the quay and boats to all the islands.  A perfect trip - thanks 

After visiting Scilly for over 25 years we were so pleased to find Schooners which ticked all our boxes for a good place to stay. Friendly staff, fantastic  meals ,a dramatic view from our bedroom and  everywhere was spotlessly clean. Added to all this was the location , on one beach a hundred yards from another and just a short walk to the quay offering trips to all off islands. We have booked next year and are planning the year after.

Stayed for 6 nights in early August. Friendly efficient service from a very hardworking team. Room spotlessly clean. Food excellent.

The amazing views from the superior sea view rooms are worth the money. 

Will definitely return.

Another happy visit to Scilly

We had a wonderful week at Schooners, an unpretentious 2 star hotel, very clean (rooms made up every day but good to see the focus on sustainability) with very friendly and helpful staff (big shout out to Nancy, John and of course Mark the Chef). We were in room 12 superior deluxe, room a little on the small side but stunning views across the harbour made up for it and really comfortable bed. Food was delicious and with excellent ingredients nicely presented and good value.  Great location within easy walking of everything. Thanks very much to all the team.


Thoroughly relaxing break

Schooners is a simple 2 star hotel, but is clean with very friendly and helpful staff and one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in, apart from my own. Food was a most pleasant surprise. Imaginative choices with excellent ingredients nicely presented and certainly beyond our expectations. I may be a bit old fashioned but did not take to being referred to as "you guys" by waitressing staff, apart from that our visit was most enjoyable

A Really lovely stay

Our first visit to the Isles of Scilly. The only available place at short notice  was in a 2star hotel - not very promising! But the Schooner was perfect.  Room 7 with a panoramic view of the whole harbour; all facilities excellent; staff both friendly, helpful and efficient; first class dinners, reasonably priced, with excellent imaginative dishes; comfortable library/ sitting room.  We could not have wished for more, and have already booked again for next year

Lovely surprise!

On arrival at this hotel we were a little apprehensive as the entrance was down a narrow alleyway.  But once ensconced the room was fabulous and the view stunning.  
Dinner was so good on the fist night we never ate anywhere else. Their Chef needs to be guarded closely as he will be poached!  His food was stunning.  The staff ( and it is only a small team)  were so helpful and charming nothing was too much trouble.  Joanna the front of house manager was so lovely and patient with our many requests. Jon our waiter was great.  The rooms were spotless.  What more can I say
