It was nice hotel and i think it is the best in Cimkent! Pillows was so relax, employee is so kind and one of them was talking in Turkish i liked his speaking :) rooms are great big and relax. Air conditioner working well. Clean room and i liked the balcony so much! 

I have been there in the beginning of October and stay there 2 days - very good condition room, no one smoking there, everything you need - for you in room every time. 
Only one moment - I lived in 202 room with windows to building created place - it was very loud at day. But it not hotel fault.

We went to shymkent and it was my first time to visit my wife city.
The hotel was very good, clean and the room is big enough. The staff are very polite and helpful, and i would like to thank a guy called Stas as he assure to make our stay comfy plus he speaks english which made it easy for me to communicate.
The place is in the middle of the city and even they don't offer breakfast, you can still order from the hotel cuisine or just pick up any taxi and within 7 minutes you can reach any restaurant.

Sapar Standart is what passes for 5 * at Shymkent.

The building is new, the rooms clean and the staff friendly (for Kazakhstan).

All of that having been said there are some real peculiarities:

- my room (and the room of my colleague) had large windows between the bathroom and the washroom; why?
- the hotel and rooms look to have been decorated in the style preferred by Saddam Hussein
- breakfast is the typical day old fare favoured by hotels throughout this part of the world.

Bottom line: if you find yourself in Shymkent this hotel is OK, just don't expect the George Cinq.

Shymkent hotels: probably about as good as is possible;

First of all, this is not a hotel. I cannot find a word to describe this 'thing';  First of all, the staff doesn't speak a word of English. The decoration of the rooms is late sixties. There is NO breakfast. you can hardly find a coffee and that's it. Some cherries and the staff doesn't know the difference between juice and tea.
My bathroom: I couldn't use the washbasin because the water couldn't quit. teh shower was too hot all teh time, even if you choose cold water. The wifi is terrible, even if we ask to repair, there was no wifi. Minibar s closed, if you ask to open, they don't. i cpuld write many more lines of terrible aspects of this hotel, but I think it's clear: if you come to Shymkent: choose another hotel!
