Having no desire to stay in a big city, I was looking for a place away from Cape Town and an easy drive to Simon's Town. I stumbled across The Cob House online and it sounded like a great place to stay since we are trying to live more organically and eco-friendly. Love that the owners, Simric and Carey, have provided a warm place to stay for like-minded people. The guest room is very large and can accommodate up to 4 people.It is comfortable and very pretty with the clay walls and the beautiful arched wood ceiling. The food is organic and local and very good. The room has its own secure entrance and a carport. The owners are eager to share information and tips about the area to make your stay more interesting. They were very accommodating about our arrival late at night and our very early breakfasts when needed. The only suggestion for improvement that I would have is that the bathroom is separated from the sleeping area by a curtain that does not adequately cover the doorway. As my husband and I were staying there with a friend, it was a bit uncomfortable to use the restroom with a definite lack of privacy. I did recommend to them to replace the curtain with an actual door. All in all, a very comfortable stay and I would definitely recommend staying at the Cob House to anyone visiting the False Bay area.

Great place to stay

The owner, Simric, went out of his way to tailor our stay and tour to our needs, including picking us up in Khayelitsha, introducing us to a local poet and a local playwright, and taking us to an artisan food market. The breakfast, brought in the morning by Carrey, was excellent. And they had brought in a second heater as some of the winter nights were quite cold. The room has an alarm system, and we felt safe walking to the False Bay train station, a leisurely ten-minute walk away. Three stations away is Kalk Bay, where there are plenty of options for fine dining at a reasonable cost.

Very spacious and comfortable room with own entrance and secure car port underneath the room.Helpful host who brings breakfast to the  room dining table each morning.A few minutes walk to Muizenburg's very long and attractive beach together with a delightful coastal path to Kalk Bay with sea swimming pools and good restaurants.You can walk round Muizenburg in the evening although there is only a limited range of restaurants open.The best place is the Friday night community event at the Blue Bird Garage with great food stalls and drinks.It is easy to drive down the Cape peninsula or into Cape Town.The Cob House is a great place to stay and gives a very different experience of South Africa than staying in a city hotel.

Excellent B&B

I booked a trip to the Cape Town area rather last minute and reserved a room in the city centre for the majority of my trip and decided to stay in Muizenberg to get out from the city for a couple days. After visiting Samhitakasha Cob House, I wish I reversed the length of my stay between city centre and Muizenberg.

From the beginning, Simric and Carey responded quickly to my e-mails about upcoming travel and worked with me to even allow me to check in a little bit earlier since it worked better with my schedule. The room is well sized and well appointed. I really love how green the whole house is and how everything has a purpose and gives back to the environment somehow. The bed was cozy and the Wi-Fi internet worked like a charm. The beach is within walking distance and there are many cute towns within a short drive that are interesting to check out.

I really wish I would've stayed here longer than I did this trip, as the B&B and Muizenberg were the highlights of my trip. The price is also unbeatable.

Great change of scenery

We spent three delightful nights at the "Cob House" in Muizenberg. The Cob House itself is beautiful, with lovely touches on the interior.Our hosts Simric and Carey were flexible and accommodating. We loved the delicious organic breakfast served each morning. When we left, we felt relaxed and energized...something that we desperately needed!

Serene Getaway

We had an excellent time, staying at Simric and Carey's Cob House. The green concept is a great example to how other b&b's should be. The room was nice and cozy, all furniture is made from massive wood. Together with the claywalls this gives a very warm colour to the hole room.  The breakfast were quite standard, the owners are very sympathetic and helpfull. We felt very much at home!

Great place

I never write reviews, but this guesthouse deserves one. We had an excellent time, staying at Simric and Carey's Cob House. The green concept is a great example to how other b&b's should be.
