Salines Garden Cottages 

Just finished our 17th visit to Salines. It is as good today as it was the first time we visited. The hosts, Lawrence and Jean-Phillipe are wonderful and, as 30+ year residents of the island, know everything there is to know and share it with their guests. As repeat visitors we appreciate the updates such as which restaurants are new, which closed, and which while still open have suffered setbacks. With only 5 rental units, we are spared the “hub bub” of the larger properties on the island. The mix of guests whether from the US or Europe is always interesting during the simple “continental breakfast” or sitting around the pool with a glass of rosé after a day in the sun. St. Barth, for many reasons, is the best island in the Caribbean. In addition to the many beaches (each with its own personality and charm) we particularly enjoy the “French” environment and food. This ranges from the elegance of L’Esprit or the Beef Bar down to the pizza at Isoletta. If there’s a bad meal to have on St. Barth I have yet to have it. Going to Salines Gardens is like “going home” for a tropical week during the cold Northern Hemisphere winter. And we’ve already booked our trip back for the winter of 2026.
